This is a great idea, Bruja. I’m in the midst of removing the bark from a length of lemon branch that broke from our tree during a storm for use as a new wand. I’m not sure how I’m going to embellish it yet but I wanted to create something from this property before we move on and its wonky shape fits perfectly in my hand.
Anyway, back to the thread…great topic for a class
I made this wand from a branch from my cherry tree. Simply copper wire wrapped a “daragon’s tooth” amethyst and voila… I also have an apple tree as well.
Looks great, nice choice of copper as an energy conductor & amplifier. Do you plan to use a branch from the apple tree in the future? Thanks for sharing!
also, I really wanted to share the work in progress…
I’m actually working to develop my own classes based off a companion book I’m writing, but I’m interested. It’s always cool to see what others bring to the table in sharing their brand of knowledge and personality within.
I’ve taught classes before on Tarot and Psychic Development for Beginners years back at a local metaphysical center/store.
I will say I don’t think Facebook would be a great place for you to start this sort of offering. Maybe I’m totally wrong but I run a private group, currently am doing the Meta Blueprint work to be a certified Community Builder and while I personally love Facebook for my Creator content and overall reach, I find people in groups there aren’t as serious about sticking with things. I have a few Witchcraft groups I belong to and it’s always the same 20 or people contributing with thousands inactive or not caring.
Maybe look for a free platform that allows hosting your own courses. There’s a few out there. Or you can get creative with how you design it and release it for a small charge on a linktree type site.
I’m utilizing Google Classroom to help me in the overall structure and form of my course I’m building. I’m not sure if you can actively host there without being an official edu. org - I’m sure for free you can. It’s a cool app -totally free. It allows you to organize and create lesson plans, give homework, pop quizzes, tests, etc all through each individual module and all the student has to do is be invited by you and sign in with their Google account. It allows you to teach to the class as a whole or communicate individually with students and conversely allows students a private line direct to you for question or clarification on anything.
Very helpful, thank you! I agree, Facebook is just not a place i would want this.
I actually have used one site that allow me to structure classes, courses, and more exactly how i wanted. Originally it was a joint project with a friend and we just couldn’t find the time to get together and finish it. So, i could surely start there or try this new app I’m attempting to mastering.
If i do go ahead with the first option, I’m most likely going to need at least one more experienced practitioner to work with me on it.
My husband has made me wands and staffs in the past. He now wants to continue making them for any friends or acquaintances of mine.
He’s already started on a few different ones. We have so many amazing trees here. He has some oak, red cedar, and more i can’t remember at the moment
Absolutely!! I have fallen in love with herbs over the last few years, learning as much as i could about each. Thus is certainly on the top of my list!
I would be extremely interested and would love to learn anything and everything I could from you!! I don’t know if you ever did set anything up but if there is a FB page or something like that please let me know!! Thank you!!
I lost a significant number of old growth pine and spruce trees in a storm last year. I was pretty bummed for a while, then the tulip poplar and sassafras trees started growing like weeds in the newly open space. I thinned the tulip trees out around the property and left some for staffs and broom handles. They also make good wands, with strong spirituality, clarity and healing properties as well as others. They are also quick growing and sustainable. Of course I have some new pine trees coming up too. Willow trees are a good choice if you want a quick and easy tree to grow. I planted weeping willow and hybrid (water) willows 5 years ago and most of the water willows are over 30 feet tall. Weeping willows are 15 to 20 feet tall. Tulip after one year is about 5 feet tall. Brightest blessing!
I would most definitely be interested…
I have been a subscriber of “The Pagan Grimoire” for a couple years now & i’m not sure how just tonight//morning that I just found out that they have a forum!
But I would absolutely lOve something like this.!
I legit just posted some crazy stuff in my “profile” about that kind of stuff, how I have felt lost in figuring out where to go I have bought things I have researched but there is just soOo much information out there & its really hard to know who is legit on their information or what…I normally just read something & whatever resonates I take with me! lol
The bad thing about all those witch Hunts was religious zealots getting rid of people who knew how to heal from plant knowledge, which was taking business away from the church. To combat that, the church came up with the notion that they must be in league with the devil, hence the witch hunts. A lot of valuable lore was lost, being done by people who had learnt the magic of healing through plants, which the knowledge had been handed down from generation to generation.
The Church has a lot to answer for. Furthermore, believe it or not, a lot of the satanic rituals were held by the churches or the very wealthy but was mainly just a ruse for an orgy.
Yes, I am very interested for I’m just beginning & though since I remember I have always been connected to nature the farther away from civilization in the woods the more centered i feel, as far as being able to work any spells,or make anything really I have never been given or thought any knowledge. I also can talk to my son no matter how far away he is & he can hear me as well, I have always had a great guy feeling rather good or bad, & aside from this I’ve lived in a sort of fear of trying anything. So guidance from someone of your staur would be a great honor.
