As im still quite new to witchcraft I haven’t really dipped into tarot yet, i wanted to build my knowledge first and work on simple divination first. I can’t openly buy a tarot deck since Im still in a household with my parents but does anyone have tips for maybe ways of doing tarot on normal playing cards or anything of the sort? I feel I’m far enough into my practice to experiment with different types of divination!

I am by no means proficient, I only started being serious with my tarot cards since about November. However, YES…there are ways to use a standard card deck. Try this site…I am not tech savvy…try Tarotfarm.com it gives easy explanations on how to read with a regular deck!!!
Do not forget pendulums!!! You can find a rock that speaks to you and suspend it…I don’t know, on a chain (means you need to make a hole) or maybe just wrap it in thread to hold it…
You can use and carry a pendulum with no-one the wiser.

I live in West Virginia and I am still under 14. I tried approaching my parents of the topic once and It just wasn’t a safe situation. I appreciate your curiosity! And I understand that trapped feeling were it feels like you can never truly be yourself and that’s why I love this site. It makes me feel less alone

Awww… You know what I think is great about this site- Age, Location, Financial situation, It is still motivating to me to meet you. No offense but West VA… I can’t say I understand. But that is irrelevant. I have been afraid my entire life- So I’m not really a good mentor- But you inspired me to try- and that is amazing.

I know age dosent matter specifically in the craft i just feel like a lot of people shut down my ideas and tactics due to my age. It does suck sometimes though to be so young I feel like for some reason it hinders my craft and frankly in general at my age puberty is a bitch. Ahem sorry of topic but I really do hope you can find peace and confidence in yourself. (Sorry this post is really random i dont mean to vent) and besides you only live once so just be yourself!
There are excellent apps like labyrinthos that do an excellent job of providing daily dose information or deep dives, even in their free tier. Providing no one will see the apps on your phone, this might be a great way to start adding to the wisdom you are building.
Lenormand is an excellent way to practice with physical objects well under the radar of others in your household. Great idea! Dice and coins are another excellent alternative, equally hidden in plain sight. I have even seen excellent I ching sticks made simply and beautifully out of popsicle sticks

A little late, but it starts with the standard decks! There are some out there with meanings and keywords written known as the beginners deck using the standard deck depictions!
Get to know the cards and the deck with practice. Thats all I can truly say, as the cards I use all have keywords of what they represent. Eventually, you’ll know what they mean by looking at some of them when you practice.
The main thing here, practice!
