I don’t necessarily follow a spread pattern or anything too structured. I just let the cards come out as they please and interpret from there. My typical question is “what do I need to hear/read/learn/know in this moment” – and I use it either daily for the vibes of the day or for when I read on the New Moon/Full Moon of the month. I would probably classify myself as a more intuitive reader? Even when I read for clients, I ask them if they have a question or something they want to know, but even then it’s very general. I read off of the vibe I get and what comes out.
Does anyone else read more intuitively or do you follow a spread pattern?

I read very much like you Kiki! I read through a very intuitive method that’s a synthesis of different techniques I’ve learned over the years.
Essentially I ask the question and shuffle continuously until the answering cards jump out of the deck. Sometimes it’s the very basic “what do you have to tell me today?” Sometimes it’s more complex, and I check for the surface and hidden energies on more difficult readings. Basically I’m having a conversation with my cards. An old teacher I had told me “learn all the rules once, and then throw them all away” so that’s what I did! lol
Cheers.

Merry Monday Moon Night,
Kiki and Wren, I am by no way a seasoned tarot reader. I’ve been working with the Celtic cross daily for over a month along with the Horseshoe spread. I do prefer to read with the keywords of the cards, but kind of “go with the flow”. I have a few cards where my interpretation is NOT what is given in the guidebooks, but I am consistent in the way I read them, so that works for me. Other the aforementioned spreads, I prefer a 3 card layout usually. Modifier in the middle, with a before/after, on each side, or goal/block, advice/likely outcome……many different ways you can use a 3-card spread. Yes, as I shuffle, I am focusing on my question. If I am reading for someone else, I still shuffle the cards as I think about the question (I do not like others to shuffle the cards…bends, tears, whatever) but I do let them cut the deck. So, I try to take the keys from the card and create a narrative in the “order” of the spread. Occasionally a literal read like that does not make sense; the same cards sometimes work in a different order.
Just my take on things my Tarot Teammates!! Lady Gene

I’m the same as you Lady Gene in that I don’t let my clients shuffle the cards. What I do is either cut the deck into multiple little piles and have my client restack the deck in a way that calls to them, or I’ve done it where I mess the cards up in a pile on the table and have my clients pick cards randomly, again picking what calls to them. Both methods have worked for me depending on the situation, but I prefer the deck re-stacking the best. I also go with the flow most of the time and interpret what I see, read, and feel in the cards. I have various decks with different art styles so that keeps the readings interesting as well.

I’m glad I’m not alone in my reading style!

Hello!
I dont follow a pattern. I just read the cards in the order it comes out in and combine/figure out the whole meaning and message as I go.
When all cards have arrived on its own, then I read it based on what I feel or the first things that comes to mind and try to connect it with the meanings of the cards first. See if it resonates, or feels right. It takes time and effort to read the cards this way but it often feels like the ‘right’ way for me so I definitely relate to you!
Im so glad to know we arent alone in this!
