I have a tarot app that I like to use daily (with a notification reminder), but I also use a physical deck some mornings when I remember to. The tarot app gives me a default 3-card spread, but it does have other options for doing readings. With my physical deck, I usually draw a single card to get a feeling for the theme of the day.

I really just enjoy shuffling the cards, from one hand to another, and seeing which cards come out of their own accord, while I focus on a question.

Often its just ‘a card for today’ or ‘what should I focus on today’ in my mind while I shuffle.

When different cards fly out, I interpret the way they show themselves as part of the reading. If a card dramatically flips face-up, it brings a different energy than falling on the ground, or 2 cards flying out side-by-side to be read together.

I have a daily morning Tarot practice I learned from amazing Tarotist, teacher, and author T. Susan Chang. https://www.tsusanchang.com. It’s a two-card spread she calls “Something to look for and something to try.” The first card (“something to look for”) represents an energy/situation that we may find ourselves dealing with during the day. The second card (“something to try”) represents what energy we can bring into such a situation when we come across it. Then I write a spell from the two cards… it’s a wonderful way to be mindful and empower ourselves with what we learned from the morning’s draw. It’s quite astounding how on-the-mark and how helpful this practice is!

Ohh @Alchemista I absolutely love that! It gives somewhere to direct your focus but keeps it broad enough and open for interpretation! Lovely practice :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Hey @tifftiff I do a daily oracle consultation - always one rune for “how can I be my best self today?” and usually one tarot card for “What can I do today to work towards my larger goals?”. I find a spread a day a bit too overwhelming but this just helps me check in with myself and the universe (with full spreads as and when). X

That’s really cool. I like that a lot. I usually draw one card to see what I should be thinking about for the day or aware of. But, I’m going to try this :slightly_smiling_face:

Also, I want to share this link with you from LauraRedWitch. She has some awesome ideas about other ways of working with Tarot cards

Depends on my mood, some days I do a 3 card pull, others just a one card pull, but once a month I do a 7 for the month.

I use a four card technique I learned years ago for yes or no answers and I have always used the Celtic Cross Spread. The four card spread, you shuffle the cards while asking the quesion and then you start flipping the cards over and count to 13 OR get an Ace and start another pile. You end up with four piles. One Ace means NO, two or more mean yes and the more Aces you have the stronger the YES answer. Some people even consider whether the Ace is reversed or not. If it is reversed, the answer is still yes, but there be obstacles before you have that yes.

That sounds like a cool way to get an answer. I’m going to try that

I like to do:
*a card for the energy of the week
*a card for something to let go of
*a card to give me strength for the week or a teacher lesson card

I like it at times. I read it in one of the books by Aleister Crowley, The Book of Thoth or 777, but recently I read it in the book called Modern Witchcraft Book of Tarot by Skye Alexander. The method works for me and I tested it by asking obvious answer to questions like My name is Anthony or The color of my hair is red and it answered correctly, but be precise, because the spirit world has a sense of humor. The other night I bought a lottery ticket and I asked my Tarot Deck, if I am winning the lottery. I got an yes answer. I won 4 dollars by getting the powerball right. I just laughed.

Marcus Katz is also a good tarot teacher. Tarot face to face is for daily readings. He also has many books. I helped with the Gregorian angels book too. Tarot face to face Maybe has more ideas. I haven’t read that one so I don’t know if it could be helpful.
Ghost train is one of my favorites by him.

This sounds wonderful! Love this Idea!

I use the Season of the Witch Oracle Deck. I have the Imbolc deck at the moment. Whenever the Spirit leads me i do a 1 card pull. Usually on a Friday night or weekend.
