Curious and curiouser

I’ve been on tumblr, and to anyone who’s been on there or instagram, there’s usually these pick a pile things going on and really, it can be accurate towards your current situation but sometimes it also shows the readers personality and how everyone interprets things differently. E.g, some prefer not to read reverse cards, some have their own readings done based off on vibes alone, others stick to the book and make connections based off of whats written down, and others simply look at the card and they listen to what its being told to them despite the pre-set meanings as if the cards itself hold personality regardless of the ‘definition’ given to them.

And I find that magnificently interesting. Being a tarot reader myself; I mostly read based off on vibes, intuition and what the higher guidance is telling me (deities speaking, first words that come to mind, pictures or feeling).

Which makes me wonder how everyone else portray/read their cards or tarots in their own way outside of the set definition! I’ve seen others use constellations, numbers and elements associated to the cards, some able to bring a whole new meaning based off on the keywords of the cards!

Though when a reading doesn’t resonate (done by others), I feel detached, as if the cards lost its magic, like a connection or string ‘snaps’ and a sense of skepticism and gut feeling comes up saying ‘this isn’t for you/it doesnt align.’ I think we all have different ways of telling when a reading done doesnt resonate even by our own hands and it becomes a whole new puzzle to decipher!

I tend to hold the deck in my hands, close my eyes to clear and calm my mind then visualize my energy flowing into the cards. Engulfing it in light before reading. Sometimes I visualize the energy and familiarity of the deities that I work with to go into the cards before I read depending on the situation Im reading for!

Feel free to share your little tricks and tips to understanding your cards and if you’ve ever, had a reading that didnt resonate with you, how did you know? How did you feel?

Sorry for the yapping!

Wacky Wednesday FireFox,

I have been using the Horseshoe shaped spread with Card 1 the center bottom, 2 and 3 the top, 4 and 5 middle, 6 and 7 the final two placed above card one.

1 card–theme

2 and 3 at top–past, present on the theme

4 and 5 next down in the middle–goal and obstacle

6 and 7 down again, but sitting on top card 1–advice and likely outcome.

This is how I read them. I use a “wash” shuffle. Here in Vegas, when we take the cards and swirl, mix, shuffle it is called a wash. It puts much less wear on them than shuffling. I wash them on the carpet. Or, if you wish to stand, put a towel on a table, desk, counter, do the wash and continue with your read. I cut the deck 3 times, then pick them up before the read. That’s about it.
