What are your favorite cleansing methods

I had quite an energetic experience yesterday with physiological and psychological overwhelm. It was not an unpleasant experience at all but in order to make sure I’m being influenced by positive energy I have done a couple of things for cleansing. I burned a candle, rang my little bell, and now I’m doing a simmer pot. What do you do when you want to cleanse the energy in your space? :broom::soap::bubbles::sponge::sparkles:

Burn incense. Simmer herbs. Ring a bell. If the energy is bad I call in quarters for aid.

I personally like to burn Nag Champa or jasmine for cleansing rituals.

I do similar things, sometimes just the bell but then I’ll take more time and light a candle with a clove in it. Just one clove. When I want to clear the air more strongly, I use 3 cloves in a red candle with the buds going clockwise around the wick, which if you aren’t careful may disturb people and make them wonder why you’re inquiring if nobody is bothering you per se. I no longer get managed that way, SMH. I don’t’ know, I guess deities are not my thing, but you seem to need assistance for such things. I can’t imagine why though.
I love to burn cinnamon sticks! To help clear out neg vibes or intentions coming at me. I can’t use commercial incense as it bothers my allergic nose! I can burn herbs if I choose the ones that won’t give me a reaction too. I’ve decided to make a ritual with my mini brass bell at nights to help me create a peaceful sleep time. I could go on and on. Sorry!

. . .

**I’m going to amend this a tad and say, those out there it LaLa land that think they can read my posts here and attack me if I don’t do exactly what I stated are on the wrong side of my fence! STOP that.
I don’t know whom they are but they should have a bit more respect of older people. I’m an old crone and I don’t appreciate being attacked for no good reason or even disturbed out of sleep. For pete sakes get a life ya’ll.

Smoke and sound have always been my favorite methods. Although there are bells within my tradition too, I use sound bowls. Herbs I’ve used for regular cleansing is rosemary and juniper. When I need to step it up, cedar. If I want to use “bleach” sage. That usually is enough to keep negative spirits at bay.

I also employ mantra chanting from special texts in my tradition. The only drawback for those is it requires a lot of memorization for the longer chants. :trident_emblem:

No apologies necessary, I am appreciating all the knowledge I’m gaining. I never even thought of burning a cinnamon stick, what a cool idea!

I love that you can take these all around the house with you. What I noticed yesterday is, while I’m sure my kitchen was thoroughly cleansed by using the simmer pot, it doesn’t really make it all the way around the house (although it was very nice). I worry about Sage setting off my smoke detector but I don’t know if I’m being overly cautious. That would definitely draw attention!

Smudge bundles smoke up a ton, so I understand completely lol! I never use them unless it’s warm enough to open all the windows and leave them open for a while. Yes they have set off my smoke detector before! lol

Now I only burn the herbs in small amounts. Like one sprig of dried rosemary, one stick of cedar, 1 small rope of juniper, etc. I’ve found that doing that produces a much more controlled, acceptable amount of smoke for my smoke detector. I can’t always open my windows during winter!

I actually haven’t burned sage for a while. I haven’t had a need for something that strong, but maybe I should get some again just in case. I would definitely break open the bundles they usually come in burn like two leaves at a time lol.

Cheers. :trident_emblem:

That’s a good idea, I forget that I can modify things like breaking up the smudge bundle. I’m a weird mix between rebellious and rule follower. As in, “I’m going to break all the rules but only if I can do it in exactly the correct way.” Weird, right? lol:slightly_smiling_face::upside_down_face::slightly_smiling_face:

Does anyone use salt for their Circle? No? Well, this is what I do…

I don’t just sweep away the salt, I know it’s value. I collect it. This is after Dismissal,

after it’s done it’s job. When I need to cleanse some bad juju I take this salt,

and stand on the pile (s) barefoot, let the salt absorb the negative energy from

the soles of my feet. Usually I add Epsom Salt extra. Then, I take that salt and

the extra epsom salt and soak my feet in it, with some water to dissolve it.

Only THEN do I throw it out, down the drain. (NOT the kitchen drain!)

Works well, salt is super effective!

I use a method I borrowed from another practitioner I know. I have a crystal spelled so that it automatically cleanses my environment. All I need to do is keep it inside my home, and it works on its own. Because of this, I very rarely have to perform any cleansing, yet I continue to enjoy a positive space.

May I ask which type of crystal you use?

The specific type of crystal used is irrelevant, because it comes from the spells placed on it, not from the crystal itself.

So correspondences are irrelevant?

Correspondences are irrelevant.

This is so complex! I’m reading 1 million books and every time I think I’ve learned something it gets contradicted by another source. It’s all very confusing.

Personally, in addition to the methods mentioned here that I have read, I caress or touch the trees and flowers.
I recommend it to you most warmly.
I wish you health and happy days!

Yes! I have a favorite tree in my backyard and in the warmer months I go to it every morning. :sun: :deciduous_tree: :peace_symbol:

I hope the other trees aren’t jealous but they’re in the front yard and I try not to go there.

No, I don’t use salt. Circles are not used in my tradition, as far as I know…

Salt is very powerful though! Another great way to purify objects and cleanse a space. I’ve seen some make cleansing solutions out of salt. That’s smart to reuse it like that! I’ve never heard of anyone else reusing it in that way.

Cheers. :lotus:
