I’m a kitchen witch. And I work in a kitchen mostly alone. I want to do a cleansing but not real sure how to do it without sage or palo santo. Looking for ideas.

Salt is a powerful and ancient cleansing agent. That would be my go-to if applicable. Incense?
I think there are two sides to it, and the readings I’ve done support the idea that you have to approach it from both the mundane and the magical. So I start with really intense physical cleaning, and then I like doing a simmer pot (which includes all kinds of powerful ingredients, including salt like Sedim says). After that, I ring bells to banish negative energy while I verbally welcome positive and neutral energies to stay and reinforce that any negative or malevolent energies must leave.
I’ve noticed that the energy in my home lightens and brightens considerably when I do this—if that makes sense. Then I focus on protection, to keep the good vibes in and the negative out. ![]()
Welcome KitchenWitch,
Rosemary is my preferred substitute for sage. It has similar qualities, just a little less intense.
You could throw a few sprigs of rosemary in a simmer pot and include it in a ritual like Jenny describes, or burn it as an incense. Salt is fantastic too, as Sedim says!
Enjoy the forum!

I have to agree with Sedim…SALT. No-one will be the wiser, but you will still be able to practice.
