I feel like both options are good, I like the second option not just for aesthetics, but the first one is good too and could also be adapted. When it comes to the suits I tend to see them through the Hermetic/Alchemical view, as you’ll see:

The second option:

Air At the Highest Point, then one step down Fire, which is fed by air

Then Earth at the lowest point, which is muted with water one step above.

Earth and Water are placed below, as both are elements of the yin subconscious.

Fire and Air are placed above, as elements of the yang conscious.

The first option:

Yang elements on top, Yin elements on the bottom.

Alternatively you could also place them in the “celtic cross” orientation, with again the elemental suits pointing to the cardinal directions.

Here I am giving you more options rather than narrowing it down. xD lol Sorry. :lotus:

My approach I realize was all CBT based :nerd_face: :books:
Swords (thoughts :brain: )
Cups (emotions :smiley:/:cry: )
Wands (behavior/action :woman_running: )
Pentacles (Outcome/Pay off :eyes:)

Not very spiritual :rofl:

The whole project, or just the ‘Royal Corners’? The corners I’ve decided to do those last,

see how much physical space on the door I have to work with after the Tree is done.

The whole project, the door itself, I have two decisions to make: #1 - use an existing door

in my home, or go buy a new door and do the art on that. Either way, it will still be mounted.

#2 - Start with a base coat of white paint, WHAT KIND I have no clue, nor do I know if the

22 paths will be painted on or black tape. Tape would be easier, but I worry about durability.

The circles I probably will need to paint, I can use stencils to make those neat and clean.

There’s a couple projects that are older, I now have ALL the hardware for the Gateway Tapes.

Then there’s getting the cat (applied for adoption) and getting the reading with a psychic.

That last the only problem is what questions I’m actually asking about. Since I’m paying

REAL MONEY for that, why do it without a point? Almost done, have a list to narrow down.

So, the art project is coming along nicely, but is in the works and will be done this summer. :crossed_fingers:

Does it have to be a door? Or do you think a large canvas - or even two canvases glued/stapled together would work?

Using a canvas would make painting much easier.

To paint a door, unless you get it in pre-treated form, you’ll have to sand it, prime it, ideally do 2 layers of paint, then put a varnish over it to seal it and protect it from cracking/aging.

But if it’s a canvas, all you’ll need to do is apply any paint then seal it with varnish.

(Artist over here, any time you need tips on a project, let me know. xD)

So many choices along the way. I agree that, if this is to be a permanent piece, tape won’t likely be as durable as you are hoping for.

Tell me more about the cat.

You could totally paint them on and have them look clean, even without a perfect hand.

A few quick notes:

  1. The (potential) cat is from a cat rescue down the street. You’d think I was applying for a job,

with the questionnaires to fill out. I finally feel I’m stable enough to take care of an animal.

(my health was ‘iffy’ 6 months ago, the right meds do wonders!).

  1. It was always supposed to be on a working door. That was the dream 5 decades ago.

  2. I’m a crap artist. I’ve used masking tape, also had paint wick under the tape and ruin it.

I’m much better with clay. Pot wheels I love, and I just do clay better than any other media.

That won’t help here. I predict it’ll be re-worked many times, so the cards go on LASTEST.

I may even use metal or plastic strips for the paths, rather than tape I just buy. IDK.

EDIT: I also do good with metal. Clay and metal I can art. Paint and wood I just flop/fail.

That’s why I picked that video in particular, because it shows how to avoid that. Look at how he paints on the left side example.

This video goes over a bunch of other methods to avoid that too, and explains that one at 10:13-ish in more detail.

But if the idea’s still too much for you, yeah you could try other things as well.

LOL I’m the opposite. Terrible with clay. Metal I’ve never tried.

Gotcha. Well what I mentioned there would be the standard protocol.

That’s awesome, I’m glad things have stabilized for you. Once you locate your fur baby, we will (well me really) need pics of said cat if you are willing. :smiling_cat_with_heart_eyes:

Will do. It HAS to be young, maybe a kitten (so I can train it to play nice with the Gerbil)

It has to be female. I’m DONE with toms. Even when my last tom was fixed, it still sprayed.

We fixed it ASAP at the right age, didn’t matter. All my cloths got cat spray on them. NOT

able to wash out that smell, no matter what I tried. Nope. Girl cat only. I also hope for a

black cat. The cat I had before kids was black, need to take them as the public won’t.

Yes!! That sounds sweet. Having a pet can be so good for mental health.

Wish I could have pets, lol… (apartment management has made it too expensive.)

They have a flat fee for all pets… so it doesn’t matter if it’s a “tank” pet or not, sadly. :confused:

Edit: It wasn’t always this way either. There was a change in management. We’d had cats here for a long time, but our last passed away a few months ago.
