Tarot Talks for June 2026

Super Saturday Sorcerers!!

I am starting a tarot interactive site. I tried earlier this year and it did not take off too well; so I am trying a different approach.
To start with, here are the general and most widely accepted “definitions” of the Tarot Cards.

Tarot Card Meanings List: A Complete Guide to All 78 Tarot Cards | The Pagan Grimoire

There is a phrase, “exploring with the Fool” that sums up the Major Arcana

0 through 5–are concerned with “shaping reality”

6 through 11–is helping you “explore within”

12 through 16–refer to your “spiritual health/awakening”

17 through 21–have to do with “rebirth”

So, starting Monday, June 1st, we will start the first set of cards, “shaping reality”.

Instead of tarot reads (which seemed not to work so well) I am suggesting that we use the week to explore the “set” of cards. Our own, or different interpretations–how it has worked/or we have seen it in our lives–what it reminds us of–some cards work when you put a name to it…(such as Merlin for the Magician, or Pope for the Heirophant). This will just be open discussion for the week on any of the cards in that week’s grouping.

So…I look forward to everyone, and I will start, right here with my first "impression" among this grouping of cards.

2 The High Priestess–The title always threw me off, I’m envisioning a female pope, but wait that idea belongs to the Hierophant card; then I was confused with the “crown” on her head and the B & J pillars on either side, and I’m thinking, blind justice, but wait that is Justice card…so looking at the meanings, I see “intuition, sacred knowledge, subconscious” and I wrap my thoughts around the Sybil at Delphi (Greece), so I have a hierophant, the pillars represent her temple, the crown represents her wisdom, so now I can see the “intuition and sacred knowledge”. Did anyone else have a problem with this card? Or any comments on another card in this first set of 0-The Fool through 5-The Hierophant?

So, this is how I hope to start the week and month of June on Monday. We will explore this grouping of cards.

Now, this is my first comment.

I will be back on Monday.

Thoughtful Tarot everyone :waving_hand:

Terrific Tuesday Tantalizing Tarot readers,

So, sorry, missed yesterday.

So, Already posted my idea about the High Priestess…so, let’s talk about the first card 0–The Fool–it is not really a fool as in stupid, but look at the card, it is fool as in happy-go-lucky…not quite seeing where you are going. So this is beginning, and innocence. I see, as the child, the joy of starting something new. The innocence of NOT expecting obstacles and assuming that all will be good.
This is an attitude we all have when we have excitement in starting new projects. (Be honest with yourself, how excited were you to find this site?)

I see the fool card as enthusiasm with joy to “get-started”!!

Any other ideas on any of this grouping of cards???

hi lady gene! I wish I would have seen this sooner it’s an awesome idea! But for our next card could we cover the tower card. It’s one that has confused me for a little while and I’m not sure the meaning of it yet. I’ve never pulled it in a reading (I made cards for myself, it’s been awesome so far and I didn’t have to ask my parents) i just though for the next topic maybe we could cover it?

Terrific Tuesday Foxgloves,

Hey, why wait?!

Let’s do it!!!

Major Arcana card 16 is the Tower in the grouping of cards 12 - 16 of spiritual awakening.

First looking at the Tower card, we see destruction, lightning, people falling…so on. Obviously things will be changing, and according to the picture we assume that it is bad news. Like when you break a glass, destruction and change, sudden, but not “the end of the world”. Other words that may work better for you might be, shake-up, ruin; I use the phrase “foundational shift”. A foundational shift is drastic, unsettling and sudden; usually unavoidable. It is definitely a challenge.

This card can also have a positive side (I always think of each card as a coin, having 2 “faces”). A good look at a foundational shift is that we get a kick-in-the-butt, a much-needed push/shove to make us change something in our life.
If there is a bad situation in the read, maybe a foundational shift is exactly what is needed, in which case, this card is NOT a card of bad news, but of good news, that change is just around the corner.

Well, tell me your thoughts…looks like we have a discussion for this week.

Thank-you for your input!!!

Thank you very much! The reason mainly why I didn’t understand the tower card i guess was I wasn’t sure what type of I guess you could say shove it was suggesting. For example if maybe it’s meaning was you needed to be aware to something bad to come or if it was just suggesting to holding yourself back.

Im very very new to tarot so honestly I really have very little knowledge on this topic but were all here to learn I guess:smiling_face:. (I didn’t know how to explain this well but hopefully the idea came across ).

I know it really just depends on the situation but I just wanted a little more information on it. Knowledge never hurts. So far i have understood most cards fairly well this was just one i wanted to be sure of specifically.

I appreciate this idea deeply and I know I did a very bad job explaining how I didn’t understand. I guess you could think of it like someone holding there hand up. Does this mean stop or maybe they want a high five? Maybe there just reaching for something? Thats the best I can explain it, sorry.

In a way you can interpret it different ways to a situation so I guess that a part anwser to my question but the reply did help out a lot! I did my first reading three days ago if you could imagine :face_holding_back_tears:. So really like I said I know really nothing but this has helped so much! (Sorry this turned really long)

Witchy Wednesday Foxgloves,

Yes, I understand what you mean, and you said it just fine.

Sometimes it is hard to find the best “interpretation” of a specific card. You will even find yourself clarifying your key words for the cards as you become more comfortable with the cards. After using the cards for a while, you will see how they interact with one another.

Remember that the Tower card IS about destruction but destruction does not always have to be a bad thing. Sometimes when a building becomes uninhabitable, you need to raze it to the ground and build again. Therefore, the Tower may also be a good sign, that something “needs to go, to make room” for what will be arriving.

Tarot can seem extremely overwhelming to start. I suggest a beginner tarot deck. Amazon has a very easy beginner deck (black back, “notes” of meanings on the cards…just looked) for $7.99.

I love these when learning. There are many different key words on each card, and it helps to find the appropriate meaning for what you are doing. I use a regular deck, and if I am having a really hard time reading it, I go to my beginner deck, pull out the cards, and then re-read the spread with these cards and definitions. That usually helps out bunches, and it helps to see how the cards work together.

Anything else you wish to talk about?

Wonderful Wednesday Wacky Witches,

Well, this worked out so good with the question from Foxgloves, this seems like a great way to go.

Let us open this week to questions about any specific card.

Not that I can think of at the moment. I wanted to ask though is it okay that I made my own deck and would that affect my readings? I wasn’t sure if it would or not.

Thoughtful Thursday Theologians,

Well, Foxgloves had some questions about the tower (16 Major Arcana), so we talked a little about that.

So, to continue on with our grouping of 0-5 (shaping reality) through this Sunday, I have chosen the 1 The Magician of the Major Arcana. When I first see this card, I see the magician with a stance of getting ready to say “abra-cadabra”. But it is not this kind of Magic, it is real Magick, not the illusion. Thinking on this again, what shapes my reality that is also a magician? Hmmm…this card says that I have the power to shape my reality!! This Magician delves in Magick (dealing with energies) not Magic, stage illusions. So, good side to this card, I (querent, whomever) have the power to form/change/move my reality. Think of a surfboard, you are going forward, but which way, when, how fast? This is the Magician. I am moving, but still have an amount of control here.

Therefore, the opposite in the bad sense, or reversed, however you handle your cards, it tells me not that I have lost/or released control, it may be telling me that I have not taken control yet when/where I should.

Well, just a thought for this card.

Anyone, feel free to start talking.

Lady Gene :butterfly: :magic_wand:

That makes sense to me and I like how you explained it! When I first saw the card my brain went to maybe it suggested wowing people to follow through with other motives but then I began to research and study the card more. If I’m being honest I’ve been wrong in the meanings of almost evrey card it’s honestly funny to me at this point, but thank you for the insight.

-wishing you a blessed June, foxglove

Sensational Saturday Foxgloves,

Just use the tarot books as guides. Sometimes there are cards that we have or cannot quite grasp the meaning of it. Example, there is one card where I almost always intuitively “see” it almost opposite of what it “says”. I have learned how to take my “first response” to this card and “make it fit” into the “proper” definition. But do not worry, if you use the same “definition” each time, your reads will be okay, because you are treating the card and it’s “meaning” the same with every read.

So, use the guidebooks, and just that “guides”. To give you an idea of what the intent is for that card, then look at the artwork, and see how the picture, to you, fits in with that meaning. If it doesn’t work, use what the picture feels like for you. Not to divulge and change your perception, but there happens to be a card that talks about security (pentacles) where I see greed.

I took the cards, looked at the picture, then looked at the book and wrote down the meanings that worked for me. Of course, as I work through the cards, the meaning change by becoming clearer to me, and sometimes my “definitions” have to modify too.

It’s all a “work in progress”. Let’s all “build” together.

Thats a good idea. I actually do have journal were I right down my reads and each card and how I think it correlates to my situation. I’ve been doing my best to remember meanings and im slowly getting there using the website linked and trying to study three cards daily so I don’t get overstimulated.

Sunny Sunday Foxgloves,

Three cards a day is impressive. I do not try to time limit myself with something. It causes more stress to either “hurry” to get it done, or “man” I fell behind again. So, I just take it how it comes. Sometimes I want to study a card and maybe a few hours later, a different card catches my attention. Not in an ADHD type of way, but I am not gonna put the pressure on myself to “finish this before I move to anything else”. That pressure makes me even pay less attention to what I need to “get done” and I really do not pay much attention. I mostly stick to an “agenda” but if it loses my interest greatly, I just put it down and move on…I’ll get back to it when the time is right.

Well, that’s just what I do.

Have a wonderful weekend. Anything in particular to start for next week?

I’ll be moving to Group 2 cards 6-11, to “explore within”.

Lovely weekend to all, see y’all tomorrow.

Merry Magickal Monday my Mavens,

Well, week 2 of the Major Arcana cards 6-11, which according to “The Fool’s Journey” or “Exploring with the Fool”, whichever phrase you happen to know it by, is considered the cards to “explore within”.
I really like the * Strength card for numerous reasons. First reason, 8 is my favorite number , I know, not a great reason, but it is a woman opening the mouth of a lion (leo’s and I have a “strained” relationship in many ways [most of my family are leos]). I am a woman and my family are leos. 'Nuf said.

I look at this card as “gentle strength”. You see a woman opening the mouth of a lion, gently.

Women do not “fight” nor “tame” lions, so this shows a “gentle strength” to me. She is confident, courageous, and in control. This card speaks to me that to be strong, you have to be gentle, no matter how difficult/hard or intimidating the situation.

So, any thoughts anyone? Choose a card you wish to talk about.
As Todd Beamer said on flight 93…“Let’s Roll”

Lady Gene :bow_and_arrow: :phoenix:

Terrific Tuesday Tarot Readers,

Well, diving right in–

6 The Lovers–seems obvious, name and iconography, romantic/intimate relationship (intimate as in close, such as sibling, aunt, best friend) also commitment/promise

7 The Chariot–looking at the artistry, I see the Charioteer outside the castle facing what is coming in, he is sided by 2 sphynx (the white one has mammary glands, since I cannot see the black one [it’s too dark] I’m thinking it is opposite [or why depict a female], so the chariot has 2 directions, and he has to keep them on the same path—his WILL. That is the word I use for this card, Willpower! Other words may be determination or focus.

8 Strength–gentle strength, see above posting for this card.

9 The Hermit–I see he is by himself but NOT in the dark, he is holding light. It says to me that he is not lost, he chooses to be alone, not choosing to be in the dark, on the contrary, he is alone to “see-the-light” to contemplate something. Other than Withdrawal or Retreat, I prefer Introspection. That is needing time to yourself to think. What about, doesn’t matter, you need time alone to sort things out.

10 Wheel of Fortune–well, I’m in Vegas and a 3rd generation dealer and Roulette was my game. So, I think of this card, luck and change (the wheel “spins round and round”). Since this is a wheel, is spins, which means change, and in our temporal form, also time.

Anyone wanna tackle one of these cards, please do!!

Have a Terrific Tuesday!!! Lady Gene :bow_and_arrow:

Wacky Wednesday Wonderful Witches,

Oops, forgot the last card yesterday

11 Justice–we see a “judge” sitting on a “throne” with the sword to cut and the scales to weight/judge. There is a tapestry draped behind him which signals to me that “the buck stops” with Justice. The final word, nowhere else to go/look. Words for this card: justice, fairness, balance.

Well, for today, let’s stick with this card.

So, numerically, 11 reduces to 2, which is almost what this card is, judging between 2 things. 2 is also balance, which is depicted on this card by the scales. I see the sword is able to “cut-out” what is not “fair” or to bless (as is knighthood) what is beneficial.

Who does reversed cards? I usually put them all upright and read them according to their location in the read and relationship to the other cards. If I have to use the negative aspect of the card, I generally just look at the opposite of what the upright meaning is. Sometimes the read is the same with both directions, just not as strong or valuable in a different perspective. So with this card reversed, I would think that Justice is not balanced, not being served, and that thing are not being dealt with fairly.
Any ideas anyone? Comments on any of these cards this week?

Until tomorrow, have a great, wacky, Wednesday!!

Fancy Friday Friends of the Fae,

So, today, I’ll look at 10 Wheel of Fortune.

Well, as I said, being a dealer here in Vegas, and roulette my game, I look at it as going round and round, time and space, karma, “what goes around comes around”, “the only constant is change”. I do have a problem with the red “devil/dog” creature at the bottom of the wheel but laying ON it. Who/what is it? The 4 corners of the card hold entities with wings, again movement. So, how would you look at the reverse? Really depends on the questions and the cards surrounding it, but going with opposite of upright, I would be thinking a reversal of the Wheel of Fortune, is first, lack of movement…stagnant, comes to mind first. Or something moving tooooo slowly. After stillness, so, bad karma?, space and time are having some kind of issues? simple bad luck? or stopping a cycle (breaking a habit, bad relationship, unfulfilling job?)

Well, I will leave the weekend with this thought on the cards for the week.

Next week, I’ll tackle the next group of cards Major Arcana 6-12 for “exploring within”.

Have a wonderful week Witches!!!
