Tarot Art Project!

Given to me by my Familiar. I began this project a full 50 YEARS ago. It’s based on this concept:

I have a tiny Rider-Waite deck a mere 1.75" x 2.875" also that old. The Major cards go on the

22 Paths, and the 1-10 Numbered cards go on each of 10 Sephiroth (nodes) for each of the Four

Worlds. Here’s my Question to you all:

What do I do with the 4 Royalty cards of each suit???

Of a less urgent problem is the Tree has 3 horizontal paths. I need to place at least 2 cards with

that orientation no room for verticle. Should I put the card top to the left or the right?

BTW, this art project goes on the back of a door. My door in the office/sanctuary.

No ideas? I had to break down and ask Lumo AI. There seems to be association of the

court cards with the bottom Tree Triad + Malkuth (4 Nodes) but that won’t look very good.

So I’m going with putting the Court cards into the four corners of the Art in this pattern:

| Top Right | Kings | South | Fire |
| Top Left | Queens | West | Water |
| Bottom Left | Knights | East | Air |
| Bottom Right | Pages | North | Earth |

This matches the cardinal directions on the Altar, Golden Dawn ceremonial arrangements.

Can anyone give me more info on Court Cards? I’ve not ever used them in my Tarot Practice.

Hey Sedim,

I felt like I didn’t know enough about the Tree of Life to give you a proper answer…

That’s weird that for such a thorough article that they don’t include the royal cards!

Rebecca has gone over all of them in-depth on the main site and I talked to Lady Gene about them a bit in the July Tarot topic as well:

There’s a lot that can be said about the royal cards… I don’t have time to write it all here.

Each suit is it’s own family, in my understanding. Each page is a youth still learning the arts of their family. Each Knight is the young adult now learning how to carry those principles into action. Each Queen is how that fully matured art manifests in the feminine archetype. Each King the same for how it manifests in the masculine.

I don’t know if that helps.

Magnificent Monday Wren,

That is what this thread is about…our different view/interpretations of the cards. Thank-you so MUCH for contributing to this group.

Lady Gene

Thank you. Yes, Here is the overall design.

However, the 22 cards will be ON the actual paths not off to the side as shown here:

That means that 3 cards will be horozontal, such as Empress

on the 3rd path that ties Binah to Chokma and now my Question is

which way should the top of card be positioned , to the left or the right:

OR this way:

The other two cards will be ‘Justice’ and ‘Tower’.

I see. That kind of makes sense, since then the progression from page to king reads clockwise.

Heck if I know. lol. Is there anything on how the realms connect to another? Like do you know if it’s taught as a one-way path from Binah to Chokma, or is it a two-way?

You are right! There IS a Path ‘down’ and the top of the card should be aligned with that!

Not that it’s ‘one way’ but the basic idea it should zig-zag like Lightning. Like this:

Notice the Path of Redemption and the Path of Enlightenment? Two Paths.

( Warning: That image might be mirror-image and need a horizontal flip, just an example)

Well would you look at that, I managed to be helpful anyway. lol

I’m sorry, what? I only see one path in that image - the yellow path. Unless there’s really two and my head is too f**ked up to see it. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

[Edit with a clearer head: Are you talking about the tree itself being the second path? Still not sure lol.]

My fault I should have not been lazy.

The lightning is descending and the snake mirrors ascending. (Yellow path / Green path)

Or does the Snake even mirror? I can’t follow it’s twists and turns but it DOES ascend. LO

I’m not putting these paths on the artwork, I must keep it simple and uncluttered.

Which will be a REAL challenge I’m going to want to cram as much symbolism as I can and

I already have to fit 78 tarot cards on the baclk of a door,

Oh I see it now!

I definitely see the snake ascending.

So is the Snake the path to Enlightenment then?

I assume so, but that’s the guess. Makes sense, yes?

Now you see why I love Kabbalah + Tarot

Makes sense to me! That’s cool.

Well at least they’re mini so it sounds to me like you have a good chance that it’ll work. That sounds epic. Would love to see the finished piece.

That is very cool. I’ve heard and seen a few examples of people putting the two together and I always thought they looked neat. I wondered for a moment if there’s any symbol I could try applying Tarot to in my practice but I can’t think of anything. I did find out how Tibetan astrology works though and boy it’s weird lol.

Oh, I’ll probably post a pic of the layout before I start glueing things down for sure.

I figure a full-size posterboard made up of smaller ones taped together. Or else I’ll

have to have the door laying on the floor for … who knows how long, weeks? months?
