OK, I know this might seem like a strange situation, but here goes. My family and I moved into our current house just before Samhain of 2023. Since then, on multiple occasions, I have seen an “entity”, for a lack of a better word. At first, it stayed near my closet, but it has at least 3 times stood over my bed. I know this because in each of those 3 incidents, I have physically hit this entity; the 1st time, I kicked the side of its head, bruising my foot, the other 2, bruising my knuckles when I punched it. This is also how I know that this is NOT a sleep paralysis situation. I don’t know its intentions, but I don’t feel safe with it anymore. If anyone knows of a way to possibly remove this entity from my house, I’m really starting to fear for my own and my SO’s safety (ours is the room this entity inhabits). My brother saw this thing trying to enter his bedroom while I was staying with my SO when he was hospitalized following a stroke, so I know it’s not just my imagination. To answer questions that I know will come, I have always been able to see and hear ghosts, but this is definitely different. Thank you in advance, and blessed be.
Weird Wednesday Angel,
Hmmm, sounds quite real, I have had some similar experiences. Once I kicked it, like you and found out it **was **physically there. I had another ghost, who came with a house, like yours. He? hung out at a closet and in my bathroom when I showered. I believe he is the one who burned the backdoor, just days before I moved, everything was packed, and I guess he was mad.
I have a spirit who has stayed with me for years whom I have named Steven. My Steven is just a trickster, but I have to be firm with him occasionally to return items.
For the bad spirits, the only suggestion that I have, and that I have used on occasion, is I walk into each room and talk directly to the spirit. When the spirit angers me, I approach the conversation, as an authority figure to a child. This usually helps. Last time, Steven took my wedding rings from my finger as I slept, next day, I “in-no-uncertain-terms” told him that was unacceptable and I needed them returned immediately. Later that day, my husband found the rings inside a pair of socks! Well, got 'em back.
So, all I can say is to speak directly to the spirit and make your feelings known. It is possible that they are not trying to be malevolent, but are having an issue in the communication process.
Speak to the entity and see what happens. I would do this a few nights in a row and wait some days to see what the response is. Then, I would go from there.
Sorry, I cannot help you any better.![]()

Welcome to the Forum!
So you’ve been there… close to 3 years? That would probably rule out a Phrogger/squatter
you’d have other signs, but IDK how big/old the house is. Did you change the locks when
you moved in? May be someone who has access, even if there’s no hidden room(s).
Physical contact, are you sure you hit a body? It wasn’t occupying the same space as
furniture and you made contact with that? I’d say Jinn may be the source, but IDK why
they would take a corporeal form. They can, but doesn’t make sense. I’d get outside help.
Oh, and ‘nanny cams’ and ‘trail cameras’ are rather cheap, set one of those up.
Welcome Angel,
This is going to be a long one.
A spirit that’s strong enough to take a corporeal form is a strong spirit indeed. You need to approach this carefully. If you don’t feel safe in that room and it seems particularly possessive of it, then consider sleeping in another room temporarily to appease it until you get more of a handle on the situation.
You need to identify it and figure out what it wants, but since it already seems a little agitated, be careful of taking any kind of “tone.” Speak to it calmly and with respect, but be clear on what your intentions are.
If you’re not clairaudient, set up a spirit board, or use tarot or a pendulum to receive its messages. I also suggest following Sedim’s suggestion on setting up cameras in the house. Collect the footage at least once a week. It’s important to get more evidence of its behavior and it can help with identification.
If it’s not being up-front about its identity when you ask, then that’s an orange flag. Let us know if that ends up being the case.
And if you don’t feel safe in the house, don’t ignore your instincts! Take a “vacation” if needed - even if it’s just for a few days in a local hotel. If you do this, see how it responds to that move. If its obsession is with the house, then that will give you some relief for a few days and a calmer perspective before your next move. If its obsession is with you, then you will know by its response.
Now for the questions: Have you only ever seen it inside the house? Never outside or around you in public? Does it have any effect on surrounding temperatures - if so, does it make it colder or hotter? Does it produce any kind of smell? Have you had any unusual dreams at any point after moving into your house? Edit: Also when you see it, what does it look like? Does it emit any light or color?
Looking forward to your response. ![]()
what Wren said
Blessings of the Moon upon you.
If I were you, I would try to do a ritual to banish the entity. Try using sage or sandalwood to purify your home, whilst trying to calm the spirit. I’ve seen a ghost in my home before, and what I did was used a stick of sandalwood and waved it in the air while talking to the spirit. I said something along the lines of “I ask you to leave my home, for you do not belong here.” Since you had to fight it, I doubt it’ll be easy to get it out. So if you have to fight, make sure you win.
To answer a couple of the questions that I noticed. No, I couldn’t have impacted with any solid objects in the room, because when I hit this entity, it was hovering horizontally over the middle of my queen-sized bed and I was more than arm’s length from any furniture or walls. I’m not entirely sure whether this is really relevant or not, but when my brother saw it while I was with my fiancé in the hospital (he was hospitalized for almost 5 weeks following a stroke), he said that it tried to enter his room through the window, and our bedrooms share a wall. Again, not entirely sure on relevancy, but only the 3 bedrooms in the house have wall-to-wall carpet, the rest of the house has 18-inch tile floors (it may not be able to cross the ceramic? At least I think that’s the tile, but it’s not the smooth shiny stuff). The house is roughly 15-20 years old, based on the HVAC system that we had to replace shortly after we moved in (the refrigerant in the AC hasn’t been sold in 15 years and stopped being made 10 years ago). I haven’t noticed any distinct smell, but it does get hotter when the entity puts in an appearance. It looks like a man made of shadows, but its eyes are red pinpoints, and when I’ve hit it, its face and neck feel like leather or heavy burn scars. As for unusual dreams, that’s a fairly regular occurrence for me since I was small, but I did have one really strange, really vivid dream that prompted my original post, involving something called a Burned/Burnt Man ((?)in the dream, it was described as a demon, but that’s not the vibe this entity puts off). As soon as I can get my new bedframe assembled, I intend to put a ring of salt under the edge of the bed, but I don’t know where to find a sage-lavender smudge stick to properly cleanse the room and house. (Lavender is one of my power plants.)
The temperature of the room raising, the black and red, the strength to have both a non corporeal and corporeal form, and the dream of the burning man all point to demon. If he’s not “putting off that vibe” that just means you haven’t pissed him off enough yet.
I would stop sleeping in that room - and the salt might start to piss it off if hovering over your bed is its favorite pastime. Demons hate boundaries, and hate being told what to do.
The tile isn’t the reason totally - it might dislike the coolness but tile will NOT stop a demon. You need to perform an exorcism on the house if you want it gone! Banishing, from my own experience, often isn’t enough to keep a demon away for good. Exorcism however, is. That’s what I would do.
I just noticed this question.
While I have never actually seen it outside the house (or even outside my room), I have had the overwhelming sensation of being watched
when I’m alone in the backyard (common practice in Arizona is walled backyard, and our walls are between 6 & 7 feet tall, so a neighbor peeping is not only not easy, but highly improbable). When I get this sensation, I ALWAYS use my flashlight to make sure there’s not a stray cat or wild animal in the yard with me, but I have yet to see anything. There are 2 small plants, a bougainvillea and a yucca, and a terra cotta chiminea that could possibly hide a small animal, and my mom put a plastic dinosaur toy in the chiminea, but the only thing that could possibly hide anything the size of the entity from my room is the corner of the house. Since my original post, I haven’t seen anything, but I have had the “watched” sensation. It’s also not my cat, who will sit at the glass back door, but never watches me when he does. When I’m outside alone, he always watches the corner of the yard where the two plants and chiminea are (I’m somewhat obscured from his sight behind a sheet that we hung from the gazebo to provide some protection from evening glare, and the gazebo is not in direct line from the back door to that corner). The corner where the plants are is typically the direction of the watched sensation.
(Mandatory Cat Tax)
Is the cat ever with you when this happens? Cats have far better senses including otherworldy.
Might be a way to confirm. Also, any word on a nanny cam kinda thing? They’re easy to find
at a 2nd hand baby store or even normal resale shops if they have a lot of electronics.
I’ve gotten several, and outdoor video cameras too. Then there’s always Ebay. Also,
what about the key situation? Were the locks changed when you moved in?
Eliminate mundane sources first is always a good plan, could be a human stalker right?
Samson (my Orange Boi) was in the room the first time I saw it, and what woke me was him hissing. No, we haven’t changed the locks, but we do have a home security system that only my mom and brother have the codes for. Due to my mom’s Wish-It-Was-A-Weiner, AKA dog-flavored dummy, and her scattered brain, we don’t keep it active unless no one is home, but the front, garage, and back door opening all send alerts to my brother’s phone, as well as from the security panel itself, which I can hear from my room at night, if I’m awake. The camera idea is good, but we don’t have the funds available at present to acquire any. I can’t exactly be sure, but I think this entity might be why Samson primarily sleeps on my mom’s bed at night. One other thing that I forgot until just now, this entity has only ever appeared at night, and never if the light is on in my room (I have been known to fall asleep with the light on). I never get the watched sensation during the day, either.
Some neighborhoods in California are like that too. I know what you’re talking about. Definitely not a neighbor then.
Animals are highly sensitive. If your cat is always staring at that spot, that’s a sign. If you don’t see other animals ever going into that corner, that’s another suspicious sign. Something’s going on there, and if you don’t see anything on the surface - it could be that there’s something buried underground.
With nothing triggering the door or window sensors at night or the alarm system during the day, the chances that this thing is supernatural is stacking even higher. If you’re concerned about funds for a whole-house camera system, I found this article - it talks about how to turn any smart device with a camera into a baby monitor: https://www.parents.com/baby/gear/monitor/how-to-use-phone-as-baby-monitor/
If you can make that work, see if you can try setting up just one monitor cam in your room. ![]()
Nice! I keep old phones, even if locked to providers I don’t have.
They are MP3 players, calculators, alarm clocks, and with WIFI
weather radios. So useful, no reason to get rid of them!
Right? I only just discovered this too. The device you use as the camera just needs to be able to connect to your wi-fi, and the app you use needs to be compatible with both devices. Not sure how old would be too old to do it in that example, but there’s likely more work arounds I don’t know about! ![]()
