Shield of Protection Ritual

I have a ritual here for all to try!

It’s 100% tool-free, pure personal energy magick.

Fair warning: this can sometimes be difficult to perform at first! It can become a powerful form of self-protection against negative forces of any kind.

Below is the version for beginners. More advanced versions will be mentioned after.

Beginner’s Shield of Protection

  1. Stand in a quiet, safe spot with nothing closer than arms-length, and close your eyes, breathing deeply and slowly for a few minutes until you feel your mind totally relax.

  2. Hold your arm out with two fingers pointing forward, keeping your eyes closed.

  3. Envision drawing a golden shield of light around you, the light emerging from your fingers as you turn in a complete circle, forming a sphere that extends both above you and into the ground below, as you turn slowly on the spot. Go slowly to keep your focus.

  4. Once you get back to the starting position, envision the sphere sealing and focus on the complete image in your mind for a moment.

  5. Open your eyes and pay attention to whether you feel any difference. With practice, you may begin to feel the energy of the shield. Usually it will also produce a feeling of calm.

Basic Tips

Deeper breathing and spending more time to focus on your visualizaion during the ritual will channel more energy into the shield and make it stronger.

A quiet space helps the most in the beginning. I would not play music if it might interrupt your focus, but white noise, loose clothing and soothing scents can help.

Advanced Shields

In an emergency, or when traveling, this ritual can be performed anywhere, and without any physical movement, instead performed entirely in your mind. As long as you can achieve entering that “zen” state of consciousness by tuning out the world around you, it can be done. It can also be extended outward and anchored to protect an entire space, and additional (stationary) people.

Advanced Shield Example:

I had severe anxiety once while flying in a plane. I spent some time searching for why. When I realized something may be happening out of the ordinary, I performed this ritual right in my seat:

I closed my eyes and focused all of my attention on my breath, and turned on my noise-canceling headphones.

In a couple moments, I felt nothing in the world around me while I traced the shield in the pitch black of my mind, anchoring it to the plane by focusing on a mental image of the plane with the shield around it. I held it a few moments after completing the shield.

It produced an instant calm, like the flip of a switch, and I spent the rest of the flight in peace!
