Why? Simple: I want to stay connected to the spiritual realm. The way I do things is that I’ll smoke some weed to connect to the earth. Then I’ll use the energies from the weed in my ritual to further connect me. For the rituals, i usually wipe five small white candles and a big red candle called vampire blood to boost the energies in the air. I’ll then start off the ritual by saying “With the energies in the air, may they bring forth the clarity I need to venture within the spiritual realm.”
I’m aware that it can invite negative or evil souls to find me easier, but that’s kinda the point, so I can hunt them more easily. I’d say only do it if you know what you’re doing. Make sure you have a talisman or personal sigil on your alter to act as a ward against evil souls if hunting isn’t your forte. (For me, it’s multiple pentagram that I drew. Some to represent the Moon, because I used to be a lunar witch, others with alchemy symbols to transmute the energies of the ritual.
Am I alone in this practice or do some of you stay attuned on purpose as well?
