Introducing myself & basic story

Hello All

Brand new to the forum. As far back as I can remember I have always felt drawn to paganism and witchcraft. I grew up being very close to my family but never really felt how they did about church. Because I didn’t want to lose them I kept their faith.

I’m in my forties and have been through some major traumas in the past few years. Following my family’s religious choices has left me feeling stuck in survival mode. It no longer matters if my family won’t accept it, something had to change.

As an extremely introverted adhd female, I went down a hyper focus rabbit hole for days. While trying to diagnose & fix myself and stumbled upon the phrase “psychic attack.” As soon as I read those words it resonated in me that it was exactly what I felt; under constant attack and afraid to do anything (including leaving my home). A few more days down the rabbit hole I ended up here.

It felt like I found a piece of myself that was missing. The bright side of not being able to sleep, is that I was able to get ALOT of reading done. It has been a few weeks of constant reading and researching since then. 18 books and countless websites later, I have done some basic grounding and protection spells but nothing seems to last more than a day. I am somewhat better but still feeling under attack (much worse during the day).

I’m looking forward to connecting with people who can understand, advise and support me in my journey without judgement.

You are definitely in the right place. I tend to get on the “soapbox” sometimes, so do not worry about what you feel you need to say, just go right ahead.

Sounds like you are off to a good start, all the reading already. When I decided to get serious, I spent about 8 months, just reading, studying and learning. You have much of it already accomplished!!! Kudos to you.

Here is a mantra/chant that I feel brings instant calm and comfort.

I am calm, I am strong, I am unique, I belong!!!

I have a few words that I have charged with intent that I can call on immediately if needed. I use the word DOME, when I need to be protected NOW. The dome surrounds me with the energy of the universe and shields me from all harm. Maybe you can try something like that. Or charge a sigil or talisman with your intent and keep it with you at all times. When you feel some pressure coming on, you can grab/touch/look at it and it will help you to relax.

Welcome. Your story sounds very much like my own so I totally get you.

I encourage you to take your time and let your spirit lead you to your path and don’t let anyone tell you that you have to be a certain way.
