I find it interesting that with all the effort to randomize them (shuffling, then cutting the deck into five piles, re-integrating them, shuffling them again, spreading them out on the table and running my hands over them until my hand catches on a couple) that I still get repeat cards sometimes on concurrent days. It really does seem at those times that the universe is trying to get a specific message across and really wants to stick the landing. The good news is it’s gone from being the tower to the chariot so I feel like maybe I’m facing the challenges that I was trying to avoid before. The cards really do have a mind of their own!

I have had that happen quite often. I even do what is called a “wash” of the cards. At the casinos when the dealer gets new cards, after checking them, they turn them face down, and swirl them on the table, with both hands, to mix them up. I wash the cards everytime, sometimes more than once, then cut them at least in 3 and then do my draw. With all this, I also have ended up with same cards consecutively also. When that happens, I pay closer attention, I figure I did not quite get the message yet.
It is a very “one-in-a-million” type occurrence when it happens

Do you find that you get a lot of reversals when you “shuffle” your cards in that way?
Oh yes! That’s exactly what’s happening… and sometimes when that happens I give the cards a break. I’ll spend some time waiting to see the fruition of their message or doing the internal work. I tend to interpret “nagging” as the final message that they have nothing more to say on the matter. Also I don’t want to piss off the spirit of the cards by continuing to ask and for them to continue to think I’m not listening lol.
(Yes I have an animist view of the cards. I’m fully aware of how weird that sounds lol.)

This is the way I shuffle each time, with a wash. I do not do over-hand shuffles because the cards stick together too well, and I cannot do a dealer shuffle, with your thumbs, because the cards will eventually bend. I spread the cards in various ways, sometimes in semi-circle, sometimes 2 or 3 rows, whatever before I do the wash, then cut in 3. So, I find it very strange when I have repeat cards often.
Yes. I will use a different deck, maybe switch to my witches runes, maybe do a cleanse on them.
I don’t see it as a final message; I see the nagging more as a 
slap upside the head. I obviously have not listened yet and I am being scolded.

I usually only talk to objects (inanimate) when I get irritated at something concerning it. I’ll yell at phones and TV. I’ll coax electronics sometimes…

Me too. I had a five minute conversation with a squirrel once and my husband couldn’t believe what he was seeing. It sat on the tree looking at me and we had a little call and response session. Of course, it could have been swearing at me 
the entire time, but I was completely enchanted.

The tower again this morning (in present position) but more optimistic cards on either side (past and future). I think my mind is in turmoil about exploring magic because the cost if my family found out could be catastrophic (at least in my mind). As relationships are of highest priority to me, this fill me with trepidation. I think this is the tower and the reverse tower’s reappearance (four times now in three weeks of doing tarot total). You’d think there were only a dozen cards in the deck. With all the shuffling and effort I put into randomizing, this feel highly unlikely to me. I agree with Lady Gene, this feels like a knock on the head, a “wakey wakey!” Maybe I should go back to one card pulls for a while? If you use tarot and are familiar, your thoughts are much appreciated.

I think it’s easy to get overwhelmed by heavier cards like the Tower because of course none of us want to go through trials and tribulations like that…
But if there are positive cards too don’t forget them - the Tower is not the complete message! It sounds like there are good things waiting for you after - the tower sounds like it’s just the “transformation” point - the breaking down of old beliefs, etc. that will lead you to new growth.
Also it never hurts to take a break from the cards not just to avoid being “nagged at” - but to absorb it’s message fully. I’d do some journaling maybe and ask yourself where this desire for your family to see you in a certain way comes from. Is it a desire to please? Or do you sincerely think the path isn’t for you now?

I want this path but I want it without judgement or rejection from those I love. They are part of the conservative church and still believe the practice is evil. I don’t believe that and I want to explore. I think I’ve always had to hide my natural inclinations and now I want to stop denying myself this experience. I believe it could be very healing for me.

The Tower card is not negative. In its upright position within this context, it represents a turning point for you to change habits or priorities. It’s about your lifestyle change. That’s all.
You should return to one card pulls. Pulling multiple cards and trying to interpret several at once when you are still new to tarot often leads to confusion. Focusing on a single card at a time allows you to build a strong understanding of each card.

An unfortunate reality that a lot of practitioners have to deal with. This is why many stay in the broom closet. I was extremely privileged in that I didn’t have to worry about this at home…
Unfortunately we don’t have control over how other people are going to respond. If they are as sensitive as you say, then it definitely is a risk - and sounds like not a good idea. Some Roman Catholics can be somewhat open to witchcraft interestingly because their practice actually takes a lot of pagan elements. But a lot of that depends on cultural and ethnic background.
You have the right idea. Continue to explore what your heart is calling for. There is positive development waiting for you if you do. Try not to dwell too much on what others may think. Ultimately that doesn’t matter because the life you’re living is yours!

It sounds like the cosmos is insisting you see the Tower card.
Each card has two aspects. The foundational shift that the tower represents is not necessarily a bad thing. It is letting you know that a change will be coming. However, if you look closely at the iconography, starting at the top, we see lightning, fire starting, crown falling; in the middle area we have smoke and people falling and/or jumping, but look closely at the bottom of the tower. It is built on solid rock! In the picture, the destruction part of it stops in the middle and with the people falling; but the bottom is solid, built on a rock, and it is solitary as in it is hard to reach and therefore hard to destroy.
So overall, I would look at this as being warned that whatever you are going through or soon to go through (it has shown up numerous times, you pointed out) will be difficult and seem desperate.
However, remain steadfast on the rock because the foundation is not falling and not going to move!!!

Yes, this makes sense. I felt good about it before I overcomplicated things.
I am perhaps an odd example of a mother with very conservative adult children. Of course I don’t want to be rejected by them, but they also control if I can have a relationship with my grandchildren and I think that’s the larger dynamic for me. However, you’re right and there’s nothing I can do, I have anticipatory anxiety when the truth is they may never find out anyway. 
Ahh! Maybe this is a little late, but I have a specific reading I do for just these kinds of situations! If I ever find I have a ‘stalker’ card, I put it in the deck and shuffle while focusing on that card and what message it’s trying to give me that I’m not receiving, or just why it keeps coming up for me. Then I sift through the deck until I find that card. The card that’s behind it shows some insight into why that card keeps showing up, some explanation of it’s message I haven’t understood fully, etc. The card directly in front of it shows how to resolve the issue/take in the message so that the card stops feeling the need to return.
The cards absolutely have a mind of their own. Divination tools, IME, take in all kinds of energy and as a result have a spirit of their own. I have decks with extremely strong personalities and very pronounced likes and dislikes that all work a little differently. That’s part of why I love cardomancy, working with a well-known deck is like having a conversation with a very wise friend ^-^
