I’m an eclectic witch with paths following mainly Green and Kitchen. I’m mixed-blood Cherokee Irish and Scottish. I was raised following these traditions. I started my witchcraft Journey back in the early 70’s ( Yep! I’m a crone that has seen 70 winters! ) Back then it was extremely difficult to find much information about the craft or to find any people willing to admit they were a witch. So after awhile life got in the way and I put it on the back burner, but I always intended to eventually find my path back. I’m a hippie nature loving witch. I live in a very rural area in Northeast Alabama. I’m a solitary witch. There are still no witches in my community. The nearest covens are in Birmingham and Huntsville, both are an hour away from me. After my soul mate and husband crossed over due to cancer I began finding my way back. So between books and the internet I started learning the craft. I’m fortunate to have a quiet place in the woods where I can practice my craft and greet the Creator and practice my Cherokee traditions as well. I look forward to learning new things and sharing things with others. I’m following the herbal path and just received one of my herbal degrees and working on another one. My maternal great-grandfather was a Cherokee medicine man and so was his son. He taught his wife a great deal also. He left South Carolina, met his wife and they lived in the Okefenokee Swamp in Southeast Georgia where the locals called him a witch doctor and her the swamp witch. They still talk about them and how much they helped anyone who was in need. Have a wonderful witchy day!
Welcome to the Forum!
Mad respect for Native American Shamans, I’m on the Shaman path myself.
Lots to see and read here, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the warm welcome!
You have a wonderful sounding practice!
Great seeing another experienced shaman here. I’m not a total herbalist per se, but I’ve always favored natural medicine over any of the “medicine” produced by pharmaceutical giants lol. My practice is akin to a type of shamanism as well, albeit a very rare one in the west so I can relate to being an extremely solitary practitioner lol.
You’re in the right place if you’re looking for community!
Welcome! ![]()
Thank you so much!
Blessings of the moon upon you.
Shamanic practices are very interesting. I use it to tap into the spiritual realm to talk with the gods. I use weed to gain a deeper connection with my spiritual magik before conducting rituals.
HELLLLOOOO, nice to meetcha!!
Fantastic Friday AngelOTM,
Like you, many of us had life “get-in-the-way”. Like you, again, I started back in 1971 and “life” side-tracked me also. Now that I have “awoken” from my coma and the kids are all grown, I have time to delve back into the craft. It was the sudden; but long (she had stage 4 cancer and we didn’t know until it was toooooo late, I spent 5 weeks watching her die daily), loss of my daughter that caused me to return. Like you, the passing through the veil of a loved one, “woke me up” to how I had wasted so much of my life. Like you also, I am native american. My mother always told me I was Hawaiian and Korean (she is white), but after the DNA tests, I have NO Pacific Islander nor any Asian blood. I am 51% white, 34% black and 15% SW Indian (somewhere in Northern Mexico/S. Calif or Arizona). I guess it was easier for her to tell people that I was Hawaiian (hence the different coloring and hair) instead of admitting she had slept with a black/indian man. (not gonna leave this open…I believe that my mom was a “working girl” back then. My aunt does not know who my father was and did not know that my mother had put in a “home” until she turned 21 and was able to take me home [back in 1964 you had to be 21 to be of majority])
Anyway…sorry, a little rant there…okay off my soapbox.
So…so delighted that you are practicing your craft. Did you learn things from your Grandmother (his daughter) or did you even have some interaction with G-Granpa?
Wow amazing profile that makes me feel like reading some fairy tale in a Grimmy’s fairy tale book. I would love to interact with you and welcome here dear lady
