I did a paper love spell a month ago and it hasnt worked, then I did a love spell but I didn’t follow it exactly and took insp from different things. I was wondering if it could still work even though I went in my own direction with it? Basically I carved my name in a pink candle and his in a red one, tied them together with red string and chanted a binding incantation. I didn’t light it, just put it under my bed because I read that real binding spells are to not be burnt, otherwise the string gets burnt off and it’s like a cord cutting, as well as burning the candle means it will be harder to reverse if things go wrong. That was a couple weeks ago, there was no progress so I took the candles and rewrapped with more red string and more incantations, I sprayed my perfume on it, then poured some wax from my favorite scented candle onto it to bind better, as well as lit the candles and let them burn a little to get the wax from them to bind the string, but I blew them out after they burned a little. Again I don’t want it to be irreversible or to act as a cord cutting. I know the risks of love spells and did a protection spell beforehand, as well as told spirit that malice or harm wasn’t my goal, and I worded my incantations to be positive, healthy, and happy, not obsessed or toxic or harmful. I put it under my bed again and hope that It can work better this time but I would really like some opinions from experienced witches on if it could work or what I could do differently did make it more successful.
Love spells are considered to be a taboo for some, due to the other persons free will being manipulated into what the caster wants, usually against their consent. If you truly love this person, then show him through actions not rituals.
Love that you are playing with spells and getting to know your true desires. As mentioned in the other reply, love spells are tricky and not tricky encouraged if invoking another persons free will.
I would instead do a love spell for you only. That love would come into your life, that you would learn what loving yourself is.
Often the original spells we seek show us our destinations but the path there is where the true magic and alchemy exist.
Spells are tempting to be a quick solution to a desire or problem, but I often find mine are a window into my soul and create a time for personal reflection and path alignment.
I would also consider integrating oracle cards to give you more insight into your spells if you haven’t already. I highly recommend The Sacred Forest deck by Denise Linn- they are inspiring and have never led me wrong.
