What can you do with snow water?

I was going through my grandmother’s grimoire and it mentions something about snow water but doesn’t really expand on it. It there anything anybody knows about using snow water in magick?

That is a great question. And I don’t have the answer! But… they way I see it… What is the energy of snow for you? Some people love it and it would mean something different for them than it would for me. I personally do not like snow. The Rune Isa is about ice. The non movement of water, being still till the warmer weather comes in. Then the water flows again. But for now… its frozen. Let me know what you come up with.

Hi Circe,
I agree with the previous reply, but there is another issue I would be aware of.
Your grandmother lived when (presumably) rain and snow were still clean and chemical-free. I even remember a say about rinsing your hair with rainwater would make it grow stronger…it might have been true back then but I wouldn’t do it now! So I would bear in mind that we live in a far less cleaner environment now and whatever falls from the sky is not what it used to be…Just a thought (but a serious one!). Take care

Greetings Circe, snow water can be used in place of distilled or natural spring water. In its snow form it can be used for charging ritual tools, dispelling negative energy, death and new beginnings - all things transitional. For example: You are grieving a death. Of course, plan ahead and properly prepare yourself and your ritual. Pick up a handful of snow. Send your grief into the snow. As the snow melts in your hand allow the pain of the cold to remind you that like the cold, the pain of your grief will pass. The snow melts and drips with your grief onto the ground to nourish the roots of the plants that will bring new life, just as your grief springs from your love that gives life to precious memories. You can also make ritual tea or other drinks (but don’t use the yellow snow).
