(The imagem isn’t mine, is from etsy)
I’m passionate about crystals, but one of my favorites is Garnet. Its blood-red hue is gorgeous (as a goth and vampire lover, haha, I’m fascinated).
Does anyone know what its properties are?

Terrific Tuesday Hyppolita,
I have a garnet ring from 1971. I wear it for protection, vitality, and emotional stability.
That’s all I really know, oh and turquoise is also good for the Chi, life force.

Thanks you soo much, my dear Gene. Can i see your ring, i have One too
. I had also been told that it was good for protection, but I read that black tourmaline is even more powerful.
Mine, It’s not black, it’s a deep blood-red burgundy, but the lighting in the photo doesn’t help, haha.
So can i use this ring for vitality and protection?

I only wear the turquoise and silver, like a good Shaman.

Terrific Tuesday Hyppolita,
I do not know how to take pictures from my phone and get them to my computer. My ring was a set of stones my mother got from a fellow gambler about 1970 when his cigarette burned her mink coat…he had some jewels and gave her some garnets. Then in 1983 or so, she had them set in rings, one for me, and one for my younger sister. It’s about 1/2 the size of yours. I change that with the ruby and diamond ring my husband gave me. Both fit the same finger, so I change them out occasionally. Lady Gene

Sedim, I’m from the SW of the US and spent years (summers on the Indian Reservations in the 4-Corners area). I have much old turquoise and silver from the Res. (dated from 1920 or earlier) I have many turquoise and silver pieces. Due to my skin color, I prefer the look of gold.
Reminds me, back in about 1979, when I was helping out at my parent store, an Indian came in looking to sell some jewelry, my dad bought a turquoise nugget necklace with shell spacers, and two nugget drop earrings with lapis lazuli at the ends, for me for only $20, the 3 pieces. I still have them. Many people do not realize the differences of the Indian jewelry styles. So much of it is commercialized, that people cannot tell what is “authentic” (hand-Indian made) or “off the assembly line”. I see jewelry marketed as “authentic Navajo”—-I KNOW the difference. There are completely different styles between the Zuni, the Hopi, and the Navajo jewelry. Also with the designs in their blankets and earhenware, and home-styles too. Many people just assume all the Indians in this area is the same. (kinda like the old saying “the only good indian is a dead indian”–there is no consideration, by the whites, of the differences in jewelry, housing, dress, beliefs….)
Well, as usual, I gotta get off this soapbox….but LOVE your jewelry!!!

Well, then you know what they look like. However, I tend to avoid the pieces that scream
“Native American” and prefer more culturally neutral pieces. There is a spiritual significance
to the silver combo that I like, however. I have many pieces from my mother, who went there
every year. Me, I’m just a desert rat, moreso than mountains or ocean. I’ll post in Shamanism.
Personally i like this stone, both mineralogically and spiritually
I like its rhombic dodecahedron shape (actually i like many minerals from the cubic system XD) and its red color
Spiritually saying, its red color comes from metal elements such as iron, iron and red are related to Mars, so it’s possible to do martial spells using this stone
It reminds me of the wonders of nature, especially the mineral realm.
