Pleased to meet you all and be here! i am a baby witch!

You may call me Mantra!

Soooooo, I am a baby witch with a WIDE variety of interests, like pagan, wiccan, hindu rituals, taoism, satanism, symbolism, herbs, and rituals that use unique insects, EVEN SCIENCE AND JUST SO MUCH. But I don’t want to restrict myself to one religion, or one form, I wanna expand, LIKE REALLY EXPAND, if it even makes any sense. Like practicing my own witch craft but I also need guidance on how I can cultivate my own form, how do I start, what kind of spells or rituals do I practice, if I can make my own spells and rituals, I FEEL VERY OVERWHELMED.

Well, that’s it. PLEASE HELP ME OUT!! Wish you all a happy journey with your own practices!:grin:

Also I feel VERY connected to nature. Like trees and animals and birds, even natural disasters feel so calming and humbling, its both peaceful and chaotic all at once.

Super Saturday Mantra (another thread ),

It is so easy to feel overwhelmed. I suggest just starting with one thing and then moving as you feel “moved” to :joy:. I started with the elements and making sun and moon water, within 6 months I had moved on to more elaborate practices. Take it easy on yourself, and have FUN!!!

Well, here are the 3 books I suggest for all newbies,

Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham**a very easy read.

Buckland’s Complete Book of Witchcraft (Affectionately called Buckland’s Big Blue) by Raymond Buckland**this is almost like a workbook, with little exercises at the end of each chapter. This book is a little more in-depth than Scotts book and explains a little about the different Wiccan “denominations” if you will.

A Witches Bible: The Complete Witches’ Handbook by Janet and Stewart Farrar** this is very ritualistic and is Gardnerian Wicca. This explains in-depth the rituals of Wicca.

There is much to learn here and many people on different paths so that you will have access to people with interests similar to yours.

Happy Hunting

ok! Thankyou!

Thanks for the advice Lady Gene!

Well met. Careful with Satanism, they can be deceptive pricks. Not all of them are bad, Mephistopheles can be pretty chill, but others you need to keep your eye on. I’ve had my fair share of experiences with demons of hell. Some are cool others are just evil for the sake of being evil.

Thanks for the warning!

Welcome Mantra!

lol, I admire your curiosity but attempting to learn everything at once in the beginning is going to do exactly this!

I think it’s best for any beginner to choose one path to dig into the deepest to be your “foundation.” For many, Wicca is the way they start with the craft - especially since most want the Western style to be the main signature and Wicca is very popular and accessible in the west.

Which one you choose to start with is entirely up to you - but I would say choose one who’s philosophy aligns with your own the most. Satanism as a religion is founded on the concept of extreme individualism, moral relativism, and some of their practices can lead to extreme distortions of the mind. I would caution you against using that as your foundation. I would also caution against making contracts or pacts with a deity or organization while you’re still figuring things out.

Aside from that, there’s not a lot of ways to “get it wrong” - so choose what aligns with you most. After you build your solid foundation with that practice, you can add your “expansion packs” later lol.

Cheers. :lotus:
