Our Craft Names

Merry Meet All,

To those who wish to share…why you chose your craft name. I’ll start. I had legally changed my name (reasons, not to go into). Upon my daughters death, the spring of 2024, I returned to the craft. For a craft name, it was suggested to add my birthdate numbers. Then to choose a name that equals the same. My original middle name, equaled my birthdate number. They both equal 4. And my given middle name has been unusual for a girl (unless you’re Gene Tierney, I used to always so, or I’d say, Jean, spelled the boys way). So, since her death, I have decided to return to my “roots” of the craft, therefore, it followed to return to my real name. Hence, Gene. My given middle name, no-one has ever called me that (so it is new to my ears). So, old, but new.

My immediate family know me by my chosen name (Leilani) long ago…new people know me by my title—Rev. Mojo (last name Mojarro—pit boss could not say it, so he always called me MOJO) and anything relating to the craft I am Lady Gene.

Well, just my little “how I got here” name-wise.

Any one, feel free to share anything you wish about your “witchy” name.

Merry Part, :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :magic_wand: :tada: Lady Gene

I used the numerology system in the ‘Big Blue’ to come up with my name. Moments later an actual fox appeared near by.

Days later she brought her three kits to near where I was sitting in the shade and they played for a while without any fear of me.

Well, if that isn’t obvious, I don’t know what is. It is such a beautiful story….Love it…..my numerology number actually led me back to my birth middle name….Gene (like Owen, like Olwen, of the Sun, and I am a solar witch and a fire sign, sagitarrius)….so, mine made sense to me, since I was “going back to my roots” my original name with such significance….it was obvious for me. Sure do like talking with you back and forth…..Lady Gene :crystal_ball: :magic_wand:

I have a bitter sweet tale about foxes too. I have a strong affinity with them. On three separate occasions a fox has lingered near me when dying, with one even dying overnight outside my bedroom window without me knowing it was there.

I was able to give them a fitting burial, which I now, years later, realise I buried them apart in such a way you could trace the line of a triangle between them. I now wonder if that is significant or not.

On a happier note, a highlight for me was a fox coming up to me one night and allowing me to pat it.

I have incorporated aspects of Shinto into my practices, as Inari-sama uses foxes as her messengers. I would always leave food scraps as offerings to them when I lived where I would see all the foxes. I have moved a few times since, but still pay my respects to them.

Red, That is so wonderful!! I have “talked” to coyotes, birds, dogs, cats, even the ducks at the pond. Wish I could be a “whisperer”, but I cannot really “hear” them yet….working on it. Lady Gene :fox:
