New here, but an old witch

Hello! My name is Stephanie and I am not new to paganism or witchcraft. I have just strayed away from it for a while. I am feeling called back to it lately due to everything going on in the world today. I was last studying Welsh deities and practices, but I am fairly open to all practices. I’m 56, mother of 3; grandmother of 2. I am a teacher as well so lead a fairly full and busy life.

I am happy to be here and glad to meet you all.

Merry Morning Hands,

 Nice to run into you again. You responded to my Vintage post. Like you, I have recently returned to the craft after I “strayed away from it for a while”. On another post, I wrote down why. Anyway…Like you, I am 61, have 3 kids, 9 grands….have one grandson and a nephew (25 & 26) living with us, and youngest son, age 30. I am an eclectic and do not consider myself Wiccan but a witch, as due to the fact that I do not believe in any God. However, I do “call the quarters” and use diety names, just to give my brain a “picture” to the presence. I do have some diety names that seem to work better than others, why, I do not know. Like the microwave….I don’t need to know exactly how it works, just how to use it.

Well, glad you have joined our group!!! “Hello and Hi there”—Sister Act…..Lady Gene :magic_wand: :crystal_ball:

Thanks for such a warm welcome!

Greetings Stephanie!

I’ve also gone through periods of down time in my practice - I think it’s inevitable that that happens when the demands of daily life become overwhelming. I’m actually kind of going through that right now, though I crave my practice the most when I’m stressed as it’s one of the few things that still give me any peace.

I’m a Millennial and I’m a polytheistic pagan through and through. I specialize in working with spirits, the gods and defensive magick, and I’ve had an incredibly unusual life to show for it. I was born into Theosophy and went to a school for it from ages 8-16. After that, I was thrown into traditional Wicca for a few years as a result of a coming-of-age experience I had at 22. I’m no longer Wiccan, but I do have total respect for them. I prefer to simply call myself an occultist now - only because not everything in my practice matches the traditional definitions of witchcraft, IMO.

I’m extremely busy these days but I do pop in whenever I can to hang out and help with more obscure topics. I’m always curious to know about other practices too and there’s a fascinating variety of people here!

Welcome!

It’s so very good to meet you! I am currently staying with family because I had a total hysterectomy on Monday. Something about the world these days and the major changes my body is going through led me to begin searching again last night. I am curious to see where it takes me this time.

Merry Meet Vintage,

Me again. So glad you have returned to the craft. I’m sure you will like this group. Totally non-judgemental, open minded, willing to learn, willing to teach/pass on information. I am sure we will come across each other again.

Merry Part, and Welcome!!! Lady Gene :magic_wand: :crystal_ball:
