Night vs Day Magic

Spells, they mainly work at night for me in a very dramatic way at times. I’m trying to soften that effect and not focus on servitors to make a spell or communication happen. See? Maybe you can’t but for me doing magic at night is the only thing that just plain works as if I turned a TV set on and anything goes comes on the air. lol Does anybody else have issues or concerns about day or night magic and how that all works? Darkness is just way stronger than light and there is more of it when you see the sky and the vastness of dark space. It really is!
On a practical note, I want to focus on magic during the daylight because I don’t want to wake people up especially not the family. I’m kinda stuck not knowing how to switch this up. Sounds silly but old habits die hard.

I prefer doing lunar witchcraft for a boost to my spiritual magik and for clarity so, I have more of a draw to doing night magik. As for days magik, I usually just do a simple ritual to either bring energies of purity, to banish unwanted energies. I’m kind of a noob for day or solar magik.

Oh shoot I accidently deleted my post to you. Ummm! I do see, and I started out mostly doing moon magik due to being in the closet as a practitioner. Being considered a shady practice by the ones that use magic as much if not more than some pagans do! (xtians, you knowz) Anywho, I don’t usually use celestial magicks at all. Only the moon and if I call in the Sunlight then maybe that would help in some ways that dark does not. Most I use herbs, stones, metals and woods or water magick. Kinda like Feng Shui style, I guess! Thanks for the reply.

Sensational Sunday Saffronn,

Funny, you should ask :joy:. I am a solar witch here in Vegas, Baby, Vegas. When I wake, I make my oblation in the morning. Around dawn before or after. Usually, I make an evening oblation around 5-6 pm, since I rise so early, this is the time I am winding down. Here in the Northen Hemisphere, this timing is great with the sun in the winter, because the sun is setting around that time. Now, in the warm weather, it is too hot to go out (100+ in the afternoons) and sun goes down too late (8:30-9pm) for me since I rise early. Those evenings, I usually go into my room, close the door and perform my ritual.
When I am out during the day, I will give thanks to the elements (ladies, Air, Fire, Water, Earth, Spirit/Aether). When I walk to the bus, I thank my sun goddess for the light, the air goddess for the sound of the birds, and the breeze (if there is one, not very likely), my earth goddess, for the land under my feet as I am walking and for the lovely foliage I am seeing, and I give praise for to my water goddess for the water I have been given to nourish my body that day.

Oooops, well, look at me…a little bit of a yap.
Anyway, many ways to incorporate it into your life. When I was dishes, I thank my water goddess for the water and the earth goddess for the meal and dishes to eat off of. When I brush my teeth, I wash/banish any negativity from my body when I spit the toothpaste and mouthwash out.

I make sunwater and moonwater daily. When I rise, I pour the moonwater in my cup, and set out my sunwater (with the blessings), repeat in the evening, bring in sunwater and remake moonwater…

When you have to keep your faith hidden (in the broom closet), it is very much about intent, not your gadgets. Gadgets help you focus, but it is NOT the gadget that is the magic, it is you!!.

There are many ways you can incorporate magic in your life daily…when you drink your coffee, cook, wash the laundry, clean the floor, drive to work…so many ways…

I don’t personally have that problem, but I’ve heard this from many other people. I think it boils down to your personal energy and your astrology. In my birth chart a lot of my elementals are reversed - I have literally a “cold sun” and a “hot moon.” My major deities have that same kind of contrasting solar/lunar energy too. But I’m pretty unusual - most people seem to be one or the other.

It might also be that some of the ingredients in your spells are too harsh. If you’re adding a bunch of cinnamon, pepper and cloves or using a lot of the fire element, maybe tone it down with those and try experimenting with water and earth more.

No … it’s just different. Light is more Yang and draws more from the conscious mind vs the dark Yin of the subconscious. Each is more suited to a different kind of practice, and is necessary for a balanced universe. I don’t think it’s fair to say one is stronger the other, necessarily.

Sure, there’s less light than dark in the sky - but it doesn’t take much light for everything to stay in balance. The fact that it takes so much less physical light to achieve it could even imply it’s more powerful, not less. (I’m not stepping to that as a debate, just an observation.)

Imagine an inverted universe - all light with little pockets of dark, and how overwhelming that would be? Is it possible to survive in such a universe? :trident_emblem:

I have this same problem honestly:face_with_peeking_eye:. What I try to do is when I feel like my spells just aren’t as strong in the day time i try to go out into nature and take a breath.

because in the end there’s no point in making myself frustrated.

And when that won’t work, I ask my deities for guidance and try to meditate and ground myself and energy.

This helps me most of the time but some times it’s also good to take a break! - foxglove
