Do you have to be Pagan to be apart of this group?

Is this required? I consider myself a beginner witch but not Pagan

Not at all. I’m only half-pagan and to me, it’s re-construction of true Canaanite faith.

The opposite of Pagan is assumed to be Abrahamic, but I reject that view.

There are Christian Witches / Wiccans and others that blend the two paths.

Fantastic Friday Addison,

No, paganism is not a prerequisite. You do not even have to worship any deities. This is a witch site and a witch can be pagan, secular, or mainstream religious. It is up to you, how you decide to handle your craft.

Welcome to our pack :wolf:. I have a tarot thread called Tarot Talks for June 2026, feel free to drop in and take a look.

There is much to see here and much to learn, and many different people to learn it from.

Have a great weekend, and happy learning.

Not at all. You can practice witchcraft while being Christian or agnostic. It’s easier because of there being Gods and Goddesses associated with magik or witchcraft but it’s not mandatory.

Despite being called the Pagan Grimoire - like others have said, this is primarily a site for witchcraft. When I first joined I got confused by the name too lol.

A good number of witches don’t start as pagan - rather, they start as secular, agnostic, atheist, or any other mainstream religion.

What I see the most are ex-Christians or those who for other reasons want to get away from religious trauma and see the craft as a way to build their own spiritual practice without all that baggage.

I’m a Buddhist Polytheist, so there’s also that LOL

Witchy Wednesday Addison,

Here as Wren said is soooo true. I was raised an athiest (introduced to the Craft at age 7), raised my kids, Baptist in the 80’s-90’s to give them a moral compass (not just “because I said so”), and when they had grown, returned to the Craft as many others have. Even though I raised my kids Christian, it never fit with me, I have always had differing beliefs. If I had realized “new age” was basically the craft in many forms, I would have come-out-of-the-closet and realized who I was back then. Anyway, like many of us, many different reasons why we “return” to the craft after a lengthy hiatus.

Hahaha!

Oh it’s too true… if the New Agers only knew. :joy:

Let’s just say Theosophists knew what they were doing when they created that LOL.

Cheers Lady Gene :lotus:
