New Crafts or Do you love to craft?

I love to craft. I look at it as an extension of my witch craft. I’m an old soul in many ways. When I went to school we still learned home -ec. I don’t think they teach it anymore. We learned to cook, sew, and even had wood shop. I crochet a lot and have considered starting a small business with my craft. My only problem is that I don’t finish a project quickly enough. I also keep large totes of material which will eventually become quilts. I have more projects than I do time! I frequently carry a crochet project in my back pack so I can work on it wherever I am.

@MachasCorner, Merry meet!! I had home economics as well, but no, I’m afraid they don’t teach it in high school anymore. My nephew and I just had a discussion about that recently. LOL, we would love to see some of your creations! I crochet a little bit, but pretty much all I can make are potholders, dishrags, and granny squares. I’m making a huge granny square blanket for my son’s queen size bed. I think he’ll probably be retirement age before I am done with it.  Blessings!

Merry meet! You’ll find some really great patterns on Pinterest for hats, sweaters, etc. Some are very easy. I learned from patterns in books. (Before the computer age!) I’m always looking for new stuff and the majority are free. You’ll find 100s on my page Machas Corner, with links to many others. You’ll be surprised at how simple it can be. I’m working on some simple things (hats, scarves, and mittens) for a fall craft festival. Good luck!

Hi, I’m Sheila 80 year old Pagan. You are not the only crafter out there by a long shot. I like to make techy crafts. Working on an automatic circle generator with an on-off switch. I would very much like to see what Junk Journaling is.

Hi @Cece and merry meet! I would love to see some of your creations. I love looking at things other people create.
Blessings!

Hello, I love to craft all sorts of things, jewelry, wands, staffs, beading. At times I feel if I don’t craft something I will explode. My son and I hike the woods in my area and find possible makings of wands, canes and staves. I like to find twisted wood that looks like a dna matrix, peel the bark off, sand and then either decorate or leave it. I am 60 years old and been doing this for about 40 years. My grandmother used to love to whittle, crochet and sew, which got me started on my woodworking journey. I am hoping to upload some pictures of my crafts on here soon and I figure out how to do it and when I have the time. Oh yeah, I can sew, but not my favorite pasttime, but I did make my ritual robes.

Merry meet everyone…
I have enjoyed reading your comments back and forward, I have also enjoyed seeing the things that you’ve all made… I have a favour to ask, if you are willing that is…
For those who have small shop and sell things via Etsy, Amazon or any other selling platform like Ebay etc could you please also share the links to your places on these…
It would be lovely to see the full selection of items and would save you time instead of uploading one or two at a time here which we can only wish to have… of course it’s just a suggestion, but I would love to browse through the things being sold online…it’s my birthday on Friday 21st June so I might be treating myself to a little something unique… :woman_farmer:t2::dog2::people_hugging::wink:

Merry meet, @whitecrow !! I would love to see some of your woodwork items!! That would be so cool. If you have the pictures saved on your computer, you can open the picture, right-click, then select copy image from the list. Then pop the cursor back in your message, right-click once more, and then select paste. It will drop the photo in here. It looks like a line of type when it uploads, but that’s ok because as soon as you hit reply, it will actually post the photos. I hope that helps!
Blessings!

Thank you so much for showing these to me. Your pages are beautiful, and very inspiring.

@sappleh Thank you so much! They were a lot of fun. I get some of the kits from Etsy sellers, just look for junk journals, and you will find loads. The other ones I just made up myself. I use this for Zen- a rough day seems to melt away just listening to tunes and crafting.
Blessings!

That sounds great. A peaceful time is sometimes hard to come by these days. I haven’t worked on my automatic circle casting artefact much. Between poison ivy and other health chalanges; I’ve been lazy. As my grandmother said “Don’t ever get old”; as though there was a choice. Thanks for telling me about your process. Many, many Blessings. Sheila H in WV, USA

Many months later, but just seeing your art. It’s truly impressive! I have various crochet projects going on (3)! I have some other I’d like to get going. I have the materials and the pattern for plant hangers, but haven’t gotten things done. I believe it’s part of our witchy nature to create objects of art! This is shown in various forms, including cooking.

Merry meet, @MachasCorner!! I love to cook and try new recipes. You are right; creating is part of our nature! I crochet as well, but not enough to read patterns. I am making a blanket for my son from a giant granny square. In the NC summer, it’s much too hot to work on, but I hope to finish it this fall/winter.
