My talisman(拼拼凑凑版)

I got this omamori bag about a year ago, i like its design but it’s empty inside so i made it into a talisman for academic success.

It looks like a Japanese omamori but it’s actually a witchy talisman made by combining western and Chinese folk magic.

I put a piece of assignment paper and my own drawing of Wenchang Tower(a symbol of academic success, often used by Chinese students) into it.

the word embroidered on it means “Passing exams/graduating with ease”.

Greetings!

That is so cool! I can’t tell you how excited I am to see a practitioner of an Eastern tradition here. I’m not as well versed on that style of magick, so I am so curious to learn about your methods!

Cheers :blue_heart:

谢谢!!

I’m not a professional practitioner so i just used some everyday stuff and common symbolism.

Apart from the Wenchang Tower i drew (though i’m not good at drawing and it looks more like a Christmas tree instead of a pagoda) I also used red bc this color is considered auspicious, powerful and positive here in China.

In fairytales, sorcerers, Taoist masters and fairies can infuse magic into objects by blowing some air at them (however this only happens in folklore, actual consecration follows a rigid process). Parents confort injured children by blowing some air and telling them it’s magical and can ease pain. I also used it in the making process, it’s similar to “infusing intentions into objects” in witchcraft.

Very nice! The power of breath (and its control) is so very true and is very potent. So much wisdom is held in the East about what I believe are the purest practices of magick - the kind that requires no tools, only the mind, body and spirit dancing together with your intent to transform your reality. Especially to enhance and develop the self into realizing its fullest potential. I love it!!

Cheers!
