HI, Loved your comment to the JW´s, years ago I lived on a new housing estate and the JW´s would come around every Sunday morning, This one morning they knocked and I had had enough of them so when they asked if they could talk about Jesus, I said not really as I was a disciple of the Devil. I have never seen anyone leave so quickly and they never ever called again. I think we were added to the dont go there list.

Blessings

Thankful Thursday ElHombreBruja,

I posted a few weeks ago; I had JWs approach me as I was coming back from the busstop. They said, “can we talk to you about Jesus?” I wagged my finger back-and-forth in the NO gesture. They said, “why not?”….I looked them straight in the face and boldly stated, “I’m a Witch”. They looked dumb-founded, then went on their way. I bet they had a story at Kingdom Hall that day!

Lady Gene :snake: :phoenix: PS–I have already been raised from the dead, and Jesus was not there. (I’ve “passed” 3 times, and this last time was a coma)

I actually have a no soliciting sign next to my door.

It says violators will be sacrificed to the old gods not the new and they still knocked.

I ask them if they would like to learn about “AMWAY”

This is too funny:joy: at my school everyone is very how do I describe it? Judgy. Especially my teachers. One day as I walked down the hall my math teacher was passing out crosses, respectfully of course I declined and she gave me the nastiest looks. Late that day when I was in her class she asked me in front of everyone is class what church i went to. I looked her right in the eyes stating “I’m not Christian” evreyone already knew this in class not caring and continued with there class work and such but she stood there shocked. I knew she lied when she said " I thought I saw you at my church " because evreyone knew I had a track meet Saturday and all participants were on a clipboard in the hall. I just feel it’s not right to push a religion on someone

If that’s a state run public school it’s very troubling. Not so much the hallway thing, but the

classroom. I’d ask to be moved to a different class, if possible. This will not stop, but

confrontation is not a good idea. Take it to a school councilor? Unless they’re like that too.

I was going to ask that too. If it’s not a catholic school that is very unsettling… but it also wouldn’t surprise me if it was a public school in a conservative state.

My mother works for the public school district and she says there’s a teacher that likes to play Christian music during her class. We’re in an extremely conservative state. I think a student complained but she continues to get away with it.

It’s not a catholic school, and I have tried talking to a councilor before but she agreed with my teacher I talked about. All my teachers really at the school besides possibly one don’t necessarily um how do I put it let’s say favor me for pointing out things like that i feel aren’t right. Okay on a side note this is pretty funny but also not right. So we get skill sheets each week witch is completely normal. But this week one question was about Moses:saluting_face:. I have no problem with people reading the bible I think it’s awesome so many people connect over religion but why are we learning about Moses in math class. I pointed it out to my vice principal and she gave me a checkmark basically saying I wasted her time. But really im used to it at this point there’s no need for worry.

Maybe the math question was “If Moses parted the sea, how many sections was the sea divided into?”

Well, if it doesn’t escalate then it’s just school you leave eventually. If it doesn’t effect grades OK.

Sometimes, as a ‘Religious minority’ (and I’ve always been such) you must tolerate such Xian

behavior, even ‘play along’ when it comes from someone in Authority over you (Boss later in life)

If I was there, and some random teacher was giving out crosses, no thanks. MY teacher…

‘Yes, thank you’, then give it away to someone later. To keep the peace. Pick your battles wisely.

Religious indoctrination and insensitivity is pretty rampant in conservative states. Should be against the law IMO if it’s a public school…

Sedim’s last comment is on point though - sometimes it’s better to conserve your energy for bigger things. If it were me, I’d give it away. :lotus:

Sorry I didn’t mean for everyone to investigate i just wanted to share because most people at school wouldn’t understand the feeling of being pressed like that. I appreciate the concern i didn’t mean to complain. I try not to out right defy it in general but I know many students of diffrent religions who feel uncomfortable that I want help and speak up for but in away it’s not my place.

This here IS the place to vent and while we do ALL go off-topic if you have problems at school

just make a thread about school I’m sure many will contribute. It’s a concern to us all.

Like SH said, this is a safe place to vent. I have no idea what schools are like these days other than what I see online or hear about from others. My primary education was in Appalachian schools, and I hated it from the first day of first grade through high school graduation. Be true to your principles, say and do what you feel you must, and don’t feel bad about being hesitant. It is not your responsibility to lead anyone else to their truth, and regardless of modern fairy tales, sometimes the tyrants win. We are here when you need/want to vent. Stay sane :slightly_smiling_face:. Brightest Blessings!
