Hey Everyone! I’m new to witchcraft and Paganism!

My name is Scott, and I just started learning about witchcraft, divination, and different deities. I am a former Christian and am about to move out of my parents house sometime the end of this year! I am interested in being a green witch(I think that’s what it is called?) and working with nature, and protecting myself, family, friends, and others. I am a quick study, and will gladly accept any tips and tricks, as well as constructive criticism to my craft. I’m excited to meet you all and collaborate! :blue_heart:

Hi! I’m new too and I’ve found that here is a great place to start! I’d gladly help you out but I don’t know a lot…my specialties are potions, poisons and necromancy soooooooo… but I love nature and have a bit of a knack for pointing things out heh. a YouTuber I would recommend for green witches is BlackForager, she is extremely welcoming and even has a book for foraging and recipes with said items! and how to tell if something is poison or not, so I refer to her often in my little apothecary dabbles. her book is called “happy snacking don’t die” but I would def recommend! sorry I yap alot hope you don’t mind heh! also if you don’t mind, what are your pronouns? I want people to be as comfy here as possible! Stay hydrated and eat. in fact, go get water and a snack now. Anyway, I need someone to show this to soooooo his name is Bartholomew Von Charles the 63527th

Hello! And thank you for welcoming me! I’m glad to meet you! I go by he/him. What are your pronouns?

I think I follower her on Insta! She is awesome! I definitely need to look into her book, I totally didn’t even think of doing that, thanks! I hope your day is going well! (I’ll go drink some water now and eat a snack)

Also, I think potions and necromancy is really cool! What part of those do you like the most if you don’t mind me asking?

My pronouns are they/them, but the tend to fluctuate, I’m gender fluid so on average I just say they them cuz half the time I don’t even know, gender for me is a NIGHTMAREEEE

for me, i think with potions, it kinda started with me mixing shit in the shower, but I like mixing different things for different results, also its really funny bc I actually have a giant plastic cauldron and a mixing stick to go with it Xb so my one of my brothers, the only one that knows of my wicca, will just walk upstairs to get me for dinner, and I’m just standing there, in a shark onesie, holding a blahjah stuffie, mixing god knows what XD, and with necromancy, I’m an empath, so I see and hear ghosts, and demons  but I often call apon them if I want to know something, like how they died and stuffs. Oh! whats your favorite Sabbat? mine are Samhain and Mabon. Tho I also like Yule. honestly? I like them all

LETTTTTSSSS GGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO mah lovely peeps<3

basically Sabbats are the eight seasonal festivals celebrated in modern Wicca and Neo-Paganism. Known collectively as the Wheel of the Year, these holidays mark the changing seasons, the solstices, the equinoxes, and the midpoints between them based on the Earth’s relationship with the sun The year is split into four solar holidays (lesser sabbats) and four cross-quarter days (greater sabbats). Here are the dates

  • Samhain (Oct 31 – Nov 1): The witches’ new year; honoring ancestors and the thinning veil.
  • Yule (Dec 20–23): The winter solstice; celebrating the return of the light and the longest night.
  • Imbolc (Feb 1–2): A cross-quarter day; marking early spring, purification, and the goddess Brigid.
  • Ostara (Mar 19–22): The spring equinox; celebrating balance, fertility, and rebirth.
  • Beltane (May 1): A cross-quarter day; welcoming summer, fire, and vitality with Maypoles.
  • Litha (June 20–22): The summer solstice; celebrating the peak of the sun’s power and abundance.
  • Lughnasadh / Lammas (Aug 1): The first grain harvest festival.
  • Mabon (Sept 21–24): The autumn equinox; giving thanks during the second harvest.

I tend to resonate with Samhain and Mabon the most, because they are in autumn and that’s my comfty season and when I feel most myself! but I love and welcome them all!

Terrific Tuesday Scott,

Welcome to the pack :wolf:! Maybe you are a green witch :deciduous_tree: :mage:, explore green witchery and see how you like it. You, most probably, will fit into many different categories and will eventually lean or move in and around other areas also, with a main focus in a particular area. No reason to place labels, as I see from the conversations of they/them…why have labels, right :exclamation_question_mark:

Ac3…absolutely LOVE that photo…so cuuute…is that a smile?

Have a great week all.

Oh, Scott, this Friday, August 28, 2026, is kind of a big day. Full Moon, called Sturgeon and/or Corn Moon, and Lunar Eclipse (depending on your corner of the world:globe_with_meridians:). Maybe make a little preparation for yourself. Full Moon is great to Super Charge any spell/intention and to start any action; Lunar Eclipse is good for, endings, shadow work, emotional transformation. The one thing I stay away from with all eclipses is my daily sun/moon water. I am not trying to push any moon-work on you, I am mostly a solar witch myself living in Las Vegas, but I do take note of specific moontimes.

Welcome to the club! Love seeing everyone’s stories! I was also a Christian (forced by family but always had this feeling that it wasn’t the way for me) government name is Norman which I’ve been very proud of lately after finding out it means Man of the North, being Irish Finnish German and Italian (just from grandparents) and Eclectic Irish and Norse leaning just makes my name fit me even more.

Spiritual name is LoneCrow, first life was a crow which makes sense how i work/act. The Morrigan is my spirit Mother. I fight what decides to stay attached to us. For example I’m working in property preservation, i clean out foreclosures and evictions. Some of these houses are occupied by other beings. 1 house is insanely haunted, yesterday my spirit squad and I basically “FBI OPEN UP” the place. I did my job clearing the yard while I sent my crew to corner the thing and give it 2 options, either pass willingly or be eradicated. (little context here for the intensity.. this thing was feeding off the souls of 19 dead kittens. 1st day we got there we saved 2 live kittens and I helped bring their deceased brother home to cleanse his soul and let “Momma Morrigan” guide him over.)

While not fighting the horrors of the unknown I help the innocent and pure souls left behind pass over as well, i create a loooooot of protection “grenades” little jars i throw in the houses. Still need to practice tarot, runes, oghams, and pendulums but my energy is being channeled in my job for now.

If you ever need any help don’t hesitate to pm me! And thats to everyone!

Welcome @ScottWasHere2 ! As you can see from the responses to your intro, we’re a warm, engaging, and eclectic group of practitioners. We also reflect varying levels of experience, so feel free to ask questions and seek advice. Someone will respond with an answer or a reference to further research.

The web site is a trove of information about sabbats, lunar celebrations, and other witchy holidays. My personal favorites are Mabon and Yule, which makes a lot of sense as I love to bake, prepare feasts, and share the results with family and friends regardless of their spiritual inclinations.

May you find that which you seek here!

Bright blessings,

~ Lisa
