Hey, I’m recently getting more into glamor magic and I was wondering if anyone on this form does glamor magic? If you do, do you have any tips for me?
Wacky Wednesday Kyd,
What is glamour magick? Stage magic? Lady Gene

Whut??
Come now, when you see some of the pictures of witches online, do you really believe the don’t use glamour magick?
I’ve never known a witch that said they used it specifically, but I have known a few that incorporated certain aspects of it in their regular practice.
Wacky Wednesday Marcus,
I am not sure what you are referring to. I do not see “pictures of witches online” unless it is like in a costume, and I know that is not real. So I still do not understand what “glamour magick” is.

Glamour magick is magick one uses to enhance their physical appearance, or how others see them. I believe that in days of old it was the magick used by witches so that others didn’t see them as witches. Even going so far as appearing to be horses or other animals.
Marcus,
You are kind of referring to an “invisible cloak”"? Or like shapeshifters, to become more beautiful?
It may include such things as choosing a specific color of lipstick or makeup to correspond with your intention and chanting certain words as you apply it. From what little experience I have had with it, it seemed to be closely tied to positive self-talk, though I do recall a friend who used a crystal-infused spray. If I remember right, she used spring water with a touch of witch hazel and some essential oil in a spray bottle with a crystal (rose quartz?) in it - charged by the full moon. Thinking about it, she never actually told me her intention.
Hi Lady Gene,
In a sense yes, but it depends how one uses it I know some use it to change how others see it but some also as a sense of self-love. There’s also a lot of people to practice glamor magic who use it as an extra form of protection by using there makeup to make sigils before blending.
It’s basically illusion magick, usually used by female practitioners to draw attention away from certain features and onto their favorite “more attractive” ones. There may be other uses for it, but this is the most common one I hear about.
Cheers.
Merry Meet Kydchris
My personal thought is that anything that makes a person feel more beautiful (however it may be interpreted) builds their confidence and makes them a more powerful person and gives them a more positive impact on those around them and life in general. I think many of us may hint at glamour magick without even realizing it.
Wacky Wednesday Marcus, Wren, and Kyd,
Thank y’all for explaining this to me. I had not heard of this. But it makes sense.
Okay, joke here. Since my accident/coma, I have a slight paralysis on the left side of my face. So, if I chant/sigil, whathaveyou, while I put on my make-up, they (others) will be able to see me speak correctly?
I know….just making a giggle.

Oh, ye of little faith. ![]()
I barely touched makeup until I was in my early 20s as I was extremely androgynous as a queer teen. I was raised with the conviction that people should accept themselves with their flaws, because true beauty comes from the soul, and self-love come from within.
Personal expression and an external boost are valid reasons to wear makeup, and I have no problem with that. I just have my own opinions on people who go to extremes. Using makeup isn’t a problem, but use of excessive makeup may be a symptom of a greater problem that’s not being addressed.
It’s up to the mind of the practitioner if using glamour magick is going to an extreme or not. How far is the practitioner willing to go? At what point does it stop being about building confidence and more about hiding your true self? Just a few questions for thought.
Cheers.
Wacky Wednesday Wren,
I have been modeling since I was 6, started doing my own makeup at 14. Since, I have done commercials, TV shows, and some movies (all as extra). So, I have been wearing make up a long time. I would only wear it on work days, and none on days off. I did not wear any makeup after my accident, for about 8 years. Just started wearing makeup again, but only when I feel like it.

Nice! I’ve been around loads of people in that industry too, having grown up in Cali. As I said, it’s totally a valid and effective way to give yourself a boost when you need it, or yes, when you need to fill a role professionally.
Cheers. ![]()
OOOOooo I wanna be a horse of course! ![]()
I think you made the most important point with “when I feel like it”. It’s not about how others feel, it’s none of their business. When I lived in Hawai’i, I had a friend who dressed completely in leather, including full head coverage. I used to sit and talk with him on my break and really enjoyed our conversations. I never asked about the leather, and he never offered any explanation. One day a lady came and sat where he usually sat. It wasn’t until I heard “his” voice that I realized she was him. That day she explained the leather.
I wish people IRL would be more like on here. We each have our own opinions, likes, and dislikes; that doesn’t make others wrong when they don’t agree. Sometimes we just need an effing hug.
Brightest Blessings!
I’m getting so damn spoiled here, Marcus - there’s another forum I want to join because I know it would help my research, but my pansy self is afraid now because what if they aren’t as nice!? LOL…
Cheers my friend.
I agree with your statements!
And I understand totally the need to get offline. Enjoy your peace. ![]()
I have a forum like that. ‘Atmosphere’ is not welcoming, so I have stopped trying to make it so.
I just am there for ‘business’ not socializing now. I’m always on guard, have to be. Still there tho.
I’ve been lurking there a while and it seems to be a real mix. Hopefully it won’t go as bad as I think (which is usually the case.) I just have to get off the damn fence lol.
Cheers.
