Do I have to study shadow work before starting to study the rest of witchcraft?

Witchtok is obviously not a good place to learn what is “right or wrong” but I keep seeing that it is best to study shadow work before studying the rest, is this true?

Sensational Sunday Greenpixiee,

Absolutely not necessary. There are no set “steps or rules” in the craft. There is no such thing as “right or wrong”. The craft is a delving into the spiritual and unseen/unknown world. How you approach it is up to you. Shadow work means studying your inner self. This can be a difficult thing to do, and you do not have to do this first. I suggest start with simple incense, candle and meditation/grounding. You can use a candle, with or without a mirror. or just a mirror alone and practice scrying. Magic can be as simple and making and blessing sun/moon water and using it in your coffee, tea, cooking. I make daily sun and moon water, and drink it just as water. Many things you can start with, but it does not have to be in any specific order.:hugs:

I hope this eases your mind a bit.

Thank you so much!

I’ve been slowly studying and practicing witchcraft for the last couple years, focusing on tarot and crystals and now I am opening up my mindset the rest of the craft so this is very helpful thank you! I have spent my evening doing lots of study and writing it all down and your reply does ease my mind! it seems there is so many different ways to view this craft and some people believe their way is the only way.. so thank you again for confirming that there is no right or wrong!

Have a lovely rest of your sunday, Lady-Gene!
