I did call management on this again and they said they do accept caged pets without any fees! It’s given me something to think about. I’d love a bird or a reptile!

Ya, mine makes a racket with the plastic wheel. I like it tho, sounds of life other than me.
You get used to it. Still, I don’t keep them in the bedroom. Other than the wheel, the noise is low.

Hmm, I’d definitely have to keep the cage out of my room then. That’s one reason I liked the sound of getting a bird, they’re usually not nocturnal!
Though I know some bird varieties can be very loud during the day so I’d have to keep that in mind too. They told me if the bird I get is too loud for the neighbors, they’d make me get rid of it.

Omg owls would be the ultimate fantasy!
We have great-horned owls up here. They’re incredible to watch at night. 
Brief “pet” update: I now have a delightful pair of ring-necked doves that have been hanging out on our porch regularly lol.

I’ve really been focusing on nature in my yard this year and we have a menagerie of teeny tiny urban wildlife in our yard now. Many varieties of birds, chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits, more and more every day. My husband says when he looks out the window he thinks of Disney. I said if it was Disney they would be helping with the housework!

lol! If only it were that easy, right? I’ve been rewatching Merlin lately - and that show brings up those same fantasies. Just say the magic words and the laundry is done! Man that would be nice! lol
