My weekend is of to a good start: i am begining two weeks leave and woke up just after 4 am ![]()
Fabulous Friday Friends,
Red, so sleeping in?
Don’t think I told you, but my best girlfriend growing up, lived across the street from Redd Foxx,
we used to visit and have lunch with him occasionally.
Wren,
It’s amazing what toxins do to your body, yes?
You don’t realize it until you get it out of your system how much it was affecting you. Nothing quite as exciting as Saturday at the Chinese place. But went back yesterday for Chinese with a friend and the TIP worked as it should.
*Many people do not know that TIPS, is To Insure Prompt Service. That is why, at the high-end restaurants, you see the TIP being given as they are seated. To Insure Prompt Service. I gave her a $20, (food and drink was only about $60). But, since I gave it to her first….she was very attentive. Didn’t even blink when my friend and I ordered our 3rd Sake and some Tsingtao beer.![]()
Guess that made-up for Saturday’s disaster.![]()
Well, thanks for the “call”—tag, you’re it.![]()
Lady Gene ![]()
I’m sorry, a mis-understanding. This definitely was NOT a high-end place. It’s the local/corner, mom and pop Chinese food “joint” (yeah, dating myself
). The one I had the issue inside of on Saturday last week. So, yeah, she did not even expect it, but it did as intended….she “promptly served” us, so it did “insure” our prompt service, TIPS, To Insure Prompt Service. And I do not go out often, I’m living on SSDI of only $1500 a month. Thankfully the house is paid. Lady Gene ![]()
Speaking of toxins, should I make a thread about fluoride in the drinking water?
Anyone know about that? I credit the opening of my 3rd eye to having my own well for 10 years.
Now I’m on city water again, I’ve started buying alkali water. Helps my over-acidic stomach too.
Ah! Gotcha. An interesting angle nonetheless - I’ll have to give it a try one day.
That would be interesting to see… entirely your call my friend! I’m well acquainted with that, but I know it’s a touchy subject for some people. I’ve yet to see a thread go truly bad here though, so you’re probably fine if you want to!
Cheers. ![]()
Yes, a genuine Conspiracy Theory, a deep rabbit hole that has some deeply disturbing turns.
Fortunately the ‘fix’ is easy, don’t drink city water. Or, at least limit the use of it where possible.
I use city water for washing & cooking and such, but for actual drinking, it’s bottled water.
Everyone ready for daylight savings tonight? Now some of my clocks will be RIGHT! ![]()
Me either…city water? WTF….that is why I had kidney stones at 14 here in Vegas.
They use both here. Chlorine for keeping parasites and bacteria down, fluoride for (supposedly)
fighting tooth decay. Which it does, fluoride toothpaste is a thing. But drinking it is another matter.
Now, I always used britta and pur water filter pitchers with the well water, just in case some
nasty bacteria or something actually made it down to the water table. But those don’t do much.
Wren sounds like you could use a whole-house filter. I hate water softeners they make the
water feel slimy in the shower, eew.
Alas, I live in apartment! Hence the filter-city I’ve established here. ![]()
Cheers.
Sensational Sunday
Ain’t that the truth!!!![]()
Just a “YAP”
those who know/have been following along….this Winter, of the seed growing, and now Spring, literally springing forth….I have another “awakening”….first, awakening was from my coma, started waking up in 2022, and now is Spring. I have grown and know where I want to go (like a sprout following the sun)….my husband?…well, I am on my “perfect” journey, and if he wants to ride, welcome, and if not, more power to you….Not being a door mat!!!

So, here we go….rant, soapbox…whatever…
I walked into the kitchen to heat up an eggroll….AGAIN, not serviceable because whomever used the kitchen last did NOT clean up after HIMSELF!!! (sorry, live with only men so it is HIMSELF). Do they pay me $20 an hour to follow behind them with a rag and dustpan? NOT…so, I am NOT their maid. If they say, “but all you have to do is….” if it was so easy, why did they NOT do the exact same thing that they said was sooooo easy to do?….again, not a Stepford Wife and NOT a F**** Doormat!!! Lady Gene
Sorry all, a tough weekend
Regardless of gender, people should have the decency to clean up after themselves.
Being considerate of others and basic manners is not too much to ask for or expect.
Super Sunday Red,
Thankyou for understanding!!! Lady Gene ![]()
Cleaning was MY job, cooking was hers. (I am not any sort of cook, burn even water)
So I did all the dishes, etc. Only fair.
Merry Monday Mages,
Cleaning or cooking is not the problem, the issue is that they treat me like their maid. I mean, they pull the scissors out to cut something, then leave it on the counter. Who the H*** takes 4 spoons to eat a bowl of cereal and a peanut butter sandwich (then leaves a mess all over the counter, they can’t even wipe off the crumbs. hey, I get the kitchen gets messy, not an issue, just a little common decency is wiping things down…why make it even messier?) This is what I’m talking about. I get it, I wipe down the counters and fridge handles and micro daily….just can’t you “pick-up” after yourself, that’s all. (Like, they heat stuff in the micro, it pops gets everywhere….do they wipe it down? NOOOOOOO, they’re al 25 and older.
)
Sorry, soapbox, not a good weekend….gonna hide in bed today…..Lady Gene ![]()
I’d be tempted to refuse to do any of their cleaning then… and make it clear that you won’t be from now on. The clearly have no respect for you, so you’re going to have to enforce something here somehow. Stepping back and making a hard boundary should get the ball rolling… that’s my two cents anyway.
Cheers.
When I first moved out of my parents home, I moved in with two room-mates. They also
abused me. Did things like you mention, and worse. Ate all the food I bought, no contribution
of their own. A sink full of dishes. A mess on the table, flies everywhere. I had enough, and
cooked in my own room. Kept all under my bed, had a hot plate, and a microwave. Not exactly
healthy eating, but my food was now MINE. Cans mostly, no fridge. PB & Jelly on bread.
Didn’t enter the kitchen again. Landlord kicked them out eventually. (a farmhouse)
That’s awful … but hey, you found a way draw your boundaries and get your agency back. Can’t have been pleasant during that transition, but it got you through to the point of freedom! lol…
Cheers. ![]()
