Broom Closet Queer Witch Intro

Hello all!

My name is Jay and I am an intermediate witch who has been on and off with my craft due to limited space and neurodivergency, as well as a close-minded and prejudiced religious family member whom I live with. I also kind of work within the Norse pantheon as well as Apollo-- I still don’t know if this is a wise choice since I do not know how they get along (or lack thereof).

I am in my twenties, in college, working, and a caregiver to my mom- so I try and focus on calming/grounding rituals or herbs/items, and health related spells/rituals/practices.
I am more than happy to make acquaintances here!
Have a lovely day/night!

Merry Meet @BlueJayBird ! We’re happy to have you here!

I am focusing on Hellenistic deity work. I know that deity work is met with mixed reactions - some think it should be reserved for more experienced practitioners, while others say that it is fine to work with deities regardless of how experienced you are. I fall into the latter group, especially since deity work is what got me into witchcraft. Due to my limited means, I mainly stick to prayers and playing music (as an offering) for the gods as well as researching their history. The way I see them, the gods are kind, patient beings, akin to parents or mentors, and they are above the pettiness that myth attributed to them; after all, myths were created to help people understand and relate to the gods. My advice: if your practices feel right to you, don’t stress, and if not, then you can change them until they’re in alignment.
