Hello from MarsViolets

Hi everyone, I’m excited to be here!

My first experiences witch witchcraft were when I was a teenager. I cast a few spells, nothing too big, just basic stuff, and later I researched a lot about Wicca, but decided not to practice and just became agnostic. These were my first magical experiences, as well as using energy at recess as a teenager to make some of my bullies fall on their ass.

In my early 30s I started researching witchcraft again by learning about Thelema, but I didn’t practice anything, just did regular cleansing baths and meditation.

Some years later, already in my mid-30s, a neighbour of mine got me into witchcraft again by explaining some basics, talking about angels and archangels, Hekate, ceremonial magic, and other stuff. I cast spells, I worked with Hekate, angels and archangels, amongst other stuff, we even experimented with ceremonial magic.

So, my experiences with witchcarft have been a little on-and-off, but I’m fully committed now and I’m choosing to work with a number of deities. I already work with Hekate, but I do a lot of spells without deities involved, I started tarot recently and will start using the pendulum. I also plan on starting to follow the Wheel of the Year this Samhain.

On the quiz I got traditional witch, but I probably am delving into the eclectic witch path.

I’m here to learn from other witches, since I practice alone (me and my neighbor don’t really speak that much anymore), and I’m here to help other people with any of my humble knowledge and experiences.

Cheers, thank you for reading!

Thoughtful Thursday Marsviolet,

Welcome to our pack :wolf:. What an interesting start on the path, many of us have had similar experiences. I’m Lady Gene, in Vegas, Baby, Vegas, age 61, a recent returnee to the craft as are many of us.

Please stop by Tarot Talks. I host this each month, a question list for the beginning of the month, and them we make our own pulls and reads and post them for all of us to look at.

Stop by Daily Inspiration Thread; great giggle for your day.

I tend to be more of an elemental witch, but of course, so many of us fall into many different labels. I am a solitary also, since I do not have transportation. The covens here in my area, are not quite what I am looking for anyway, I like only having to answer to myself, (and the goddesses).

Nice to see you.:hugs:

Welcome to the Forum!

Do you work with particular (named) angels?

Thank you for your kind welcoming!

I stopped working with angels for the time being, while I’m rethinking if it spiritually makes sense for me to follow angels from Christianity, as I’m not a Christian, not a fan of the Bible, the dogmas, or the institution. But I worked with Michael, Raziel, Zadkiel, for example, and some saints.

I’m also an Eclectic mix of Judaism, Paganism, Xian, and even a dash of Islam (for the Jinn) and I can tell you angels are not at all exclusive to Xian and everyone is from Noah so everyone can call on angels. I also have two Patron Saints, from way back in my RC roots I brought that concept with me to my current Path. You can use whatever works for you.

Thank you, I will think about working with angels again, if it makes sense for me. I don’t want to abandon them, I’m just figuring out if it makes sense.

But I appreciate the advice and I don’t know much about Islam, to be honest, but I will do my research. At the moment I’m focusing more on traditional magic and on studying ancient Greek Gods (mostly Goddesses), maybe delve into Norse mythology (I’ve always been fascinated by the Valkyrie), as I want to work with them on Sabbats and want to start using runes.

For the time being, I’m working with and really focusing on Hekate and I really like her and I love learning about her, she’s also helped me a lot. I worked a bit recently with Artemis too for one specific ritual, but I need to research more on her although I know the basics.

Fantastic Friday Marsviolet,

I talk to Athena for my wisdom, eastern element. I try to use as old of god/desses as possible. I call to Brigid for the south and sun, Danu and Tiamat to the west, emotion, danu for the water, and tiamat to help control my emotions. I have a combination of Spider Grandmother and Keya (American Indians), for the earth element and grounding, then Aura, and Psyche (greek) and Sila (inuit) for spirit. I now have Kali (Hindu) as my personal. She came to me in Sept of this year, and is really helping me.

My mother was fascinated with the Valkyries too.

Sounds like you have a lot to work with. Try communicating with some of your choice for the sabbat coming up, maybe that can help you narrow it down.
