As a green witch, could my manifestation of spells be my art work?

In my previous post I mentioned that I’ve had a deep connection with the environment and nature. I’ve been painting privately my whole life as a kind of therapy to process trauma and being overwhelmed. I then decided to train in ecology and conservation which now heavily ties into my paintings.

Well today I started my journey on the path, formally. I took my oath within my personal sanctuary (my art studio) as I started a new art piece that’s part of my fist ever public collection. Its not finished yet but something about it feels different. I feel it’s easier to see it’s progress and I feel calm just looking at it.

I then went outside (just after midnight) because the moon was so bright and it made everything in the neighborhood illuminated. I just stood there listening to the wind and the owls. I felt a peace and safe.

I’ve been creating paintings to communicate messages about the importance of paying attention to the fragile balance between humans and the natural world and after reading into the green witch path, I’m wondering if this has been my form of spells all along.

Hello and welcome @ForestFable,

Bright blessings on your commitment to your path and starting a new piece!

It seems logical that your previous paintings may have contained unintentional spell work, and now that you’ve chosen a path they could be very intentional spells. I speak in possibilities because only you are qualified to determine if your art is an expression of your magick.

There’s another artist, @Neriss, who is considering their work as a medium for spell work. The two of you have similar attitudes toward the physical world and might have more in common.

Sorry… that was a very long winded way of saying that we are an eclectic community and are open to sharing our stories, listening to yours, and responding to questions with answers or references.

Merry meet!

Thank you so much for this. It does indeed seem like we’re both very much aligned. I will try to reach out and connect with them

Welcome to the forum @ForestFable

I read your previous post as well. Wow we have a lot in common in our journey here and our art. I’m so honored to meet a kindred spirit.

I was diagnosed ADHD a few years ago (in my early 50s ) and I guess you can say I’ve been on a healing journey since then. Long story, but it led me here. My art is my therapy and while I’m not trying to sell it yet, that is my goal. Not solely for monetary reasons, while it would be nice to earn a little extra $$, I really want the pieces to mean something.

My desire is to make art based on wildlife and sea life here in Florida that makes people feel the same peace, calm and love I feel for nature. To help people care a little more about the natural world around them.

I can relate to the peace you feel when your outside. There is something so peaceful when the world is dark and quiet… I can stand there in the moment and listen to everything and feel the energy all around.

Congratulations on starting your journey. I look forward to seeing what you create.

Mery meet!
