Wierd dream about paganism

Hey there so I barley ever dream… Which is sad. But last night I had a very VERY vivid scary dream… I was on a couch reading books that u needed a password to open… I pulled one out and some lady yelled at me don’t open that one it’s pagan. I opened ur with 5 taps on the cover and it opened and some entity scared the shit outta me and flew out of the book and I closed my eyes in fear…

Mind you I have never heard of paganism… I woke up grabbed my phone and searched the word and paganism popped up … Now.. the freaky part not only have I personally never herd of this… I saw the symbols that popped up on Google in my dream !!! I’m scared … I’ve been trying to be on a spiritual journey I am an atheist if you will . I’m not religious I believe God is within us basically like an energy .. so I have been finding myself trying at least… Someone help why did I dream this :sob::sob::sob::sob::sob:

Welcome to the Forum!

We all dream, but most dreams are not remembered. Sometimes not even know we did dream.

You say you’re atheist, but sounds a bit more like Agnostic, a strong atheist would not be on a

spiritual journey. Do you remember any details about the book, or about the entity that flew out?

Might be significant. I had ultra-realistic dreams because of SSRIs that I was prescribed, are you

on any new prescription drug or vitamin? (Vitamin B6 can cause dreams too).

Very cool to know I may dream I just don’t remember

You may be able to return to the same dream. I When I was on the SSRIs I always returned to 1

of two towns each night. I remember those towns VERY well, I was there every day. Dream time

is NOT the same as waking time, different ‘clocks’. I spent almost a year in dreamtime in those

two towns. So you might see that book again, if you want to. Or even if you don’t want to.

You can look into Lucid Dreaming, I don’t anymore but I did on the SSRIs. It was bad, I had to get

off the drug. I could no longer tell dream from reality. Just think about what you remember when

you go to sleep, you may find yourself there again. IDK.

I love that you shared this, so cool!

I’m curious if you can mediate on this dream and ask yourself a few things..

  1. Where did you feel the fear in your body when this person yelled at you not to open the book?
  2. What age does that fear feel?
  3. Then allow yourself to revisit this dream in your minds eye and react in a way that would be empowering- do you yell back at the figure? Do you physically protect yourself? Do you yell and another person comes in to help you? Just know you can’t do wrong or harm in this imaginary scenario, but it’s about allowing your nervous system to feel safe so it can be open to further messaging.
  4. Write this all down

Im curious if you grew up in a religious environment that antagonized you for exploring other spiritual ideas?

I believe this could def be a sign to continue to be open, open to possibilities, magic and the goodness that is outside of organized religion.

I’m curious also if pantheism resonates with you at all?

I hope this helps a bit! Sweet dreams!

Also yes I will try to do what you said! I would love to not be afraid and ask it what does it want from me. Or what do I need to do… What is my purpose to know about paganism why is that relevant in my life

thanks for sharing! I practiced Christianity for many years as well and I under the coercive control and fear it places on exploration of spirituality and it’s wonderful that you are no longer restrained within those practices but maybe subconsciously you still are.

Pantheism Is the believe that god is in everything of nature, it’s a beautiful spirituality that I feel can reconnect you to yourself and nature as someone interested in witchcraft.

Look forward to hearing updates on your spiritual exploration!

I wish I could address your question about the relevance of “paganism,” but I am not versed in dream interpretation. I can, however, respond to “what is paganism” thanks to Wikipedia. They provide a very good definition and etymology of the word. They also address modern paganism which is a recent construct and used to describe recent attributes of wicca and nature-based worship.
