I’m lucky to just notice Full and New moons. I had a hard time finding a list of names for
New Moons, could only find that Native American New Moon list. Any others?
(That thread does have a lot of other cultures, IDK if there are any are Celtic or such)

The idea that new moons have names is new to me!
In my practice the minor phases don’t have individual names - they’re all just called Uposatha days. You take it as a day of reset and to deepen your practice. Lay people take up monk vows for a day, and engage in certain practices. I could dig up a list of our full moon names if you’re curious. Even in Buddhism full moons have deep significance.

There are indeed a lot of names for the Moons! In my understanding, the New Moon doesn’t usually have its own individual name - it’s usually the same name as the Full Moon cycle it falls within. But there may be cultures or tribes that took a different approach that I’m not yet familiar with.
