Random question but, let's go with it

So, I had this thought pop up in my head from time to time so here it goes. Do you all think the Gods and Goddesses have a preferred genre of music? Hades strikes me as a metal head. What do you all think?

an interesting question for sure, but I think in all reality music is a temporal construct.

given our embellishments in society, it makes sense that hades would be heavy-metal, punk, rap, along those lines; following this train of thought, then angels are singing “heavenly” music, probably, Mozart, Brahms, and of course, the choir music throughout the world.

This reminded me of Music of the Spheres

According to the legends, music was a gift from the gods . Also all artists are inspired by muses and powers beyond the normal human ego. All those who invoke energies particular to a specific deity (or eidolon) act as an instrument- a medium- between those powers and forces.

Have you listened to the hardwired album by Metallica? Can you guess who inspired that album? You can be sure that anything that was inspired by a particular deity will be especially enjoyed by that deity…

I know it’s from a different album but now I have Enter Sandman playing in my head. That slow building intro, I can’t even.

I can feel Dark Powers at work in so many of Metallica’s songs… truly audacious and quite invigorating.

Yes invigorating but also soothing. How weird is that??

Metallica was after my teen years, I was already in the music scene as a Stage Lighting pro.

In my day, we had Iron Butterfly, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, and of course the Rolling Stones.

An interesting subject! It makes sense that they may have a preference for certain styles. You could build a sort of music-based correspondence, if you wanted.

I also think in general music is a fantastic offering, especially if you add your own poetry/lyrics to make it more personal.

To me Hades gives off a more “dark/gothic classical”.

If I had to choose a genre of metal for him though, I think it would be Symphonic Metal. :trident_emblem:

There’s something to be said about harmonic frequencies when it comes to the non-physical. It would make sense that lighter deities would be more associated with lighter tones in music.

You could also look at it culturally - like the original culture the deity came from, and see that as another way to find “harmony:” like looking at heavier Greek style of music for Hades, a light Celtic style for Lugh, and so on. :trident_emblem:

Witchy Wednesday Wren,

It seems that the music is very related to culture.:musical_notes: Lady Gene :phoenix:

Providentially weird and yet fitting for the wild child and those touched by the holy ones who came down to earth and mingled amongst us!

Oh so good.. and super assist to the point ! Black Sabbath and Rolling Stones I know by sound - definitely inspired by the “Dark” Ones

Yes, you have the right of it. For example, I’m 99.98 % certain that most Greek gods would love Daemonia Nymphe…
