Hey! I’m Mariana. I struggled to find a space like this, but here I am. Allow me to introduce myself.
I’m a baby Wiccan, and young in age too as I’m 16. I almost want to lie about the reason I learned about how I got into witchcraft, but I will be completely honest despite how silly the reason was: a cartoon character. Whenever I thought of witchcraft at first, my thoughts went to the fictional, stereotypical version of it. But then I saw the character, and I got curious. But what started as a simple curiosity over… pixels, actually turned into a real interest for me. Searching was genuinely good and after trying a bit, I can say spells helped me somewhat. It’s limited due to religious family but it’s there. I did some basic but helpful ones, like protection with salt in water or talking to a mirror as a communication tool between me and whoever is listening ( who I believe to be the Triple Goddess and the Horned God ) and just doing small changes in my life overall.
I have PLENTY of questions, but I’ll leave this post as an introduction. But, I surely hope I get to learn, make friends and maybe even be able to teach one day.

How you became interested in witchcraft is nothing to feel silly about, as we all had to have found a spark that lit the fire of interest.
For me it was reading an occult book in the school library way back when.

Me too. I hated study hall, switched to Library pass quickly. Sat there, reached behind me
pulled a book off the shelf… Richard Cavendish, The Black Arts. Hooked ever since. 1972?

One way or another, it doesn’t really matter how you get drawn to your path. You’re in the right place if you want to learn, but for someone your age I suggest keeping things light. Be mindful of the Law of Karma/The Rule of 3 (The Rule of 3 is from the Wiccan Rede - another set of guidelines that are good for beginners) and be very careful of anything you see on Tik Tok or social media…
