Okay, I think it’s safe to say that we all have our own unique ways of contacting/communicating with the Gods & Goddesses. Be it prayer, meditation, or even just taking a walk in a forest. So here’s my question: Is the use of medicinal herbs, i.e marijuana, a valid way to help ones self connect and even speak with them? I personally think it’s fine, but I’m curious what you all have to say.
I’d say it’s quite valid. Mind and perception altering substances enjoy a long history in spiritual practices around the world.
That’s how i do it too
… but not really to Connect to a certain god or godess
I have read so many books and researched it online … I am so intrigued and want to do so much more … I did the summer solstice ritual, and it didn’t quit go so good but that is only because I recently got put on Oxygen this past April and I am having problems with my breathing, and I am looking to do some cleansing spells and such on my health and lungs … I had fun doing the ritual and my husband helped me do it … I just don’t know it I did it right lol … I mean is there a right or wrong way to doing rituals and spells …
Personally I do not think there is a right or wrong way to do spells as spells are based on your intentions. The worst that can happen is they don’t work. Even the tools ( candles, crystals, etc ) are not necessary. The tools can help you focus your energy & intentions & they are fun, but you don’t need them to do spells. So welcome sister! You are on a path of beauty, love & blessings.
I think it’s as valid as any other plant. I used to partake in it when I was younger, prior to becoming a pagan witch. It is wonderful for focus
Personally it is a method I have used many times.. My connection felt stronger as well.
It’s not my go to for communicating with my deities since I can’t smoke or ingest it at anytime of the day generally. But when I have the time, I thoroughly enjoy it.
That practice is as old as shamanism/paganism itself. Even burning certain herbs and spices as incense can alter one’s perception and make you more receptive to the divine, if that’s your intent. It’s perfectly acceptable.
An old belief from the native american traditions is that different plants contain different spirits, and certain deities are bonded with certain plants. If you follow this thinking, you could choose plants of the regions whose deities you have the most interest in, as they may be more drawn to the plant energies familiar to them.
Cheers!
