There are many explanations for the tarot on the internet, one site I use is thetarotprofessor.com, it works for me. Hope it helps, if you dont like that one there are a lot more available.

I am in nooooo way an expert. For tarot I would start with a general 3 card spread.
Card 1, Card 2, Card 3….Here are different “spreads”
want-need-obstacle
past-present-future
within-without-balance
theme-what to embrace-what to avoid
I hope this helps give you an idea of what to ask for a 3 card spread.

I know there are some good introductory videos on youtube on that subject. I’ve never had an affinity for doing love readings though, so I’m afraid I can’t suggest any specific ones. What Lady Gene recommended is pretty standard for all readings though. I’d see the “past-present-future” option as being the best starter for your question.
