I see everyone seeming to look for a physical family in their area. Let’s put where we are and eventually, we will find like-minded people close to us. So, I’ll start.
Vegas, Baby, Vegas (since 1969, moved alot, but this is home)
Hey Lady Gene, I love that idea, since I moved I haven’t been able to find a coven. Im currently at Pittsburgh, PA and planning on staying around here for a few years
Just to let everyone know. When you give me your location, I am keeping a written record of your name here, and where you are. As I see people in similar areas answering, I will e-mail to y’all the people whom you may reach. Not invasive at all, I just pass on the name and that you live in the area of so-and-so, you might want to get in touch.
Thank-you to those who have answered. Only 3 so far, including me, we have Vegas, LA and Pittsburgh.
At this time, I hail from rural Western Kentucky. I am a wanderer. My grandpa said I have Gypsy blood. I have been all over the globe, every province in Canada (lived in the Yukon T. for a short while), been in every state and lived in a dozen or so. I call Alaska home and came back to the Lower-48 to spend some time with my mother. I know, TMI!
Merry Meet Marcus,
Hakuna Matata…no worries for the “TMI”…I tend to do that too:rofl: You are number 4 so far, we have Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, Kentucky, California. Are you able to practice there at home? What is it that you do? I have daily oblations with the elements/dieties in the morning, and late afternoon/evening. I am a solar…I love the sunrise, so I work with the sun, and, anyway, I’m a “fiery” personality (Sagitarrius) Ha, ha, Thank you, Marcus for keeping up a conversation…write, anytime. Well, here’s a little note about me, I did my first wedding yesterday and it was at the Renaissance Faire. It was Great!!!
Glad to see everyone, when I find a connection, I will try to get in touch with each other.
Merry Part and Meet Again, Lady Gene
I do indeed practice here. I have what I call my sanctuary set up in one of the spare bedrooms. It is my safe haven when the world starts spinning too fast. Weather permitting, I have a fire every sabbat and every full moon, sometimes incorporating the two. I will be having a bigger fire for Samhain, usually lasting three days. I am usually in the woods each morning as the sun starts peeking through the trees. I begin each day with a salute to the sun, the quarters, and Akasha. I am, however, most decidedly lunar by nature. I can’t even let the dogs out at night without spending several minutes on the deck staring at the sky. I can spend hours stargazing with my telescope or even just binoculars. Back in the day I used a rosary, then I made my own prayer beads, and I end each day with them. I am drawn mostly to Celtic deity, though I do work with others depending on what I am doing. Way cool that you did your first wedding, and at a faire no less; congrats! I performed a handfasting for my oldest daughter so I can appreciate how special it is. The last time I was in Vegas I was on a bicycle travelling from California to Georgia. OMG the freaking wind going out of Vegas down toward Searchlight. Gotta run. Brightest Blessings!
Merry Meet Marcus,
Yup; I understand the wind; we are having gusts right now. Our street is on a wind tunnel and we had about 9 trees go down in 1 block with winds up to 80mph😯. I bet your ride was really, really fun. I love car road trips. Have a great week.
Merry Part and Meet Again, Lady Gene🪄
My name is Brielle and I am located in Ozark MO. I am 25 years old and I am currently trying to expand my knowledge of the craft. With Samhain coming up, maybe someone has some ritual suggestions to share? I am a solitary practitioner, just something to keep in mind. Blessed be!
Thank-you, I have added you to my list. I am a solitary also. I am an eclectic so, I do not necessarily follow a “ritual”. I have my own “thang” that I do. I usually do much ancestor, shadow, and divination for Samhain. Welcome, anytime. Have a great week.
Samhain may be celebrated in a vast array of ways. It is a most sacred time for many in the Craft. In the Celtic traditions it is a time to be thankful and thoughtful of our ancestors, acknowledging their sacrifices, and being aware of the plants and animals that have sustained our life. I could go on and on, as it is my favorite time of year. The veil between the worlds is at its thinnest and faeries roam the forests and glens.
I think it is important to have a fire - a bonfire is great, if you can. Any ritual you do can be as simple as sitting before the fire and being open to the spirit world, dancing around the fire with your ancestors, or whatever you feel is right. You could cast a full circle and perform a ritual acknowledging the death of the Sun God and the mourning of the Goddess. Be creative.
Whatever you do I think it is important to feel the power of the universe coursing through your veins and to know and reaffirm that being a witch and practicing the Craft is the purest form of worship and respect of that energy. Brightest Blessings!
My name is Amber & I live in Humboldt County, California born & raised here very small less then 30,000 people. Used to be a very nice area with all the forest & old growth redwood however the economy has demished & homeless & drugs have stepped in. I just wish I had a place I could practice at. Very isolated & I feel stuck.
This thread is still in action. I see threads stay open about 6 months. This was started at the end of September. I only have a listing of 8 people. Two in CA, 2 in PA, and the other 4 kind of midwest. Still keeping tabs on those who have given their locations. Hoping to connect some of us. Please, keep on with the information please.
I hope everyone had a great Samhain and looking forward to the rest associated with Winter. I know I am. Time to regroup myself and prepare for the upcoming year. I wish all of you, a great Yule season.
Happy Yule to everyone. I will be closing this down as there has not been enough of a response. I have everyone written down, so if someone else would like to pick this up, I have a start of only 8 people looking for a group in their area.
