I have been reading and reading and still reading about everything Wiccan, and this year I want to actively start practicing, and I just wanted to ask what some daily things I can do? A Goddess has chosen me, Athena, but I also have my altar set up for the God and Goddess. My alter is almost ready. I need a cauldron, a knife, and a wand, then I think I’m done. So any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you, and Blessed Be.
Merry Meet Saige,
You don’t have to wait for anything in order to be ready. I suggest daily oblations. I am a solar, so when I wake up, I say “good night moon, hello sun; night is gone, day is begun”, it is also suggested to have a “gratitude stone”, any rock that resonates with you, kiss it upon waking and naming 3 things you are thankful for. I end my night with evening prayers….Hanwi (god/dess of your choice) of the night, hold me tight, keep me safe ‘til the morning light”—as you can see, I love rhyme. It is also easy to stir your coffee and give a morning gratitude to the elements of water and earth for your coffee. I also do gestures for the elements in the morning…arms raised at elbows for the Air/East…..arms overhead, hands clasped for Fire/Sun/South…..arms cupped at waist level for Water/West, palms down at waist level for Earth/North…..Lady….for your air that blows….Lady…for the sun that glows….Lady…for the water/emotion that flows….Lady….for the earth that nourishes my body with what it grows….and Akasha, for all that you Know. These are very easy, have much intent, and only require yourself. I am not a Wiccan, as I do not follow any Gods, and I use Goddess names just to give an “image” to the elements in my mind.
I hope that helps you get started. You can use your pointer finger of your dominant hand for your wand….you can make your own wand out of any wood, or stone, your intent will be in the making of it. You can use a cup, shell, bowl…for the cauldron, just to represent your water, currently, I have a turtle for that element. Be creative!!!
You will know it is right when it feels right!!!

Thank you, Gene, that was very helpfull thanks again for writing me.
I used to teach starting off small to begin with. There is no need to rush or put on a big show. The little things count more in many ways.
My altar is a small wooden board. I started off with a letter opener for a knife and a chopstick as a wand.
