First off, Hi I am new to The Pagan Grimoire! So happy to find a place where I can ask questions that isn’t on Facebook and TikTok.
I started my journey when I was in high school back in 2021, but abruptly stopped (I am 23 now). I’ve always done little stuff, like tarot and meditating. I’ve always wanted to get deeper into a craft, like alters, spell work, celebrating holidays, and to be honest I don’t know where I fit in. Any advice is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!
Welcome! You’ll find a lot of wonderful people here to guide you. Have you read the witchcraft for beginners post on the site? That may also help you get started I also recently published a guide to witchcraft that’s in the shop ( Witchcraft for Beginners Guide | Witchcraft 101 Grimoire Printable | Beginner Witchcraft PDF – The Pagan Grimoire ) that you may also find useful. But, I recommend starting with the article as it covers many of the basics. I am (slowly) working on an email series that will serve as a guide, but that’s likely a Q2 or Q3 launch.
Welcome to what I consider the best pagan site online. The general consensus right now is that Buckland’s Complete Book of Witchcraft, around 250 pages, by Raymond Buckland is a very good aid for neophytes and those who want to explore their witchy side. It is set up along the lines of a tutorial of sorts. Amazon has it for around $22. There is also a Witchcraft Guide 101 available by clicking on Rebecca’s link. I haven’t read it, so I’ll trust Rebecca.
All that aside, you will find that there are many people here willing to answer any questions you may have. Sometimes patience may be a virtue when waiting for a reply, but it’s only because “life happens” and not because you are being ignored. Brightest Blessings!
Welcome
I am relatively new to all of this myself. My first piece of advice is don’t spend a ton of money. You won’t know what resonates until you dip your Lil toes into everything that interests you. One thing at a time! There is no rush or finish line. Also, this site has tons of free literature that will be of interest to you. I appreciate you reminding everyone that it isn’t a good idea to spend a ton of money. One may buy every pagan/witchy tool, crystal, and everything else available and none of it will necessarily help at all. As exciting as it may be to start down a new spiritual path, there are basics one should focus on, and the best first purchase may well be a highly recommended book. That way “your Lil toes” (love that ) won’t be sore from all the unnecessary wandering around. Brightest Blessings!
