Hellooooo out there to the wide and outer world of the web!
**I’m Stargazer, not my spiritual name, but its a username I’ve picked entirely for this new site/community. I’m nearing the big old 40 curveball in life,I had my midlife crisis fairly early along with several ex’s which are now in the past and water beneath the bridge of my reality! Worked with this criticial situation from a young age and tried several avenues like counselling but lately have found writing very theraputic for me. I keep a journal.
I’ve been leading the spiritual path for a number of years and only now just branching into the witchcraft spectrum of knowledge, looking at magic, amongst other practices and art of mindfulness as well. I’ve found what works for me is what works. Happy to be here and posting and sharing! I’m from the UK. Bright Blessings, Stargazer.**

Bless you, water holds memory, so just be careful what you put into it! Hopefully, your cup is overflowing with positivity!

Welcome to the community, Stargazer.
Journaling is great for processing, I always recommend it for people who are trying to get through some difficult times or memories. There are loads of rituals for self-care, healing trauma and rebuilding confidence.
The whole “midlife crisis” thing always perplexed me. Why does it have to be mid-life? Seems like a rather outdated term lol. As a Millennial I feel like I’ve been through multiple midlife crises, and I’m not in my mid life yet! Do they still count? lol
Cheers.

Sensational Saturday Stargazer,
Welcome to our “pack”. I’m a crone now, 61, and went through my “mid-life” at about 45, my husband is just finishing going through it at 70. Called “mid-life” because you realized your mortality at roughly age 40, which was half way through your life. Now, we live longer, but we don’t really go through the “mid-life” realization until we are about 60 or 70 now. So, more like, almost at the finish line crisis.
Really Wren, I hear ya,
“Mid-Life” crisis, in my opinion, is anytime your realization your limitations due to your limitations. What I mean, is you no longer have the optimism of youth for a particular situation. That is a mid-life crisis, then. That is how I see it. My grandkids are in their 20’s, my daughter is dead, my husband is 70, my youngest is 30…yeah, I cannot do cartwheels anymore.
I realize that I am not an invinceable as I had originally (in 1975) thought.
Well, too much of a tangent…sorry.
So glad to see you here, and many of us are “returning” to the craft after a long lapse of life having gotten in the way.

Well you could argue it’s trauma, not a standard “midlife crisis” but when I think about it, there’s some similarities. You also lose youthfulness and optimism for life when you come out of a major trauma.
Making this short - I have a history of trauma that started in childhood. I acted adult-like before 10, without some of the optimism of a kid. I may seem like a generally happy person on here, but that’s mostly just gratitude to be alive. Offline I live with CPTSD. A great deal of my personal and spiritual work now is dealing with the effects and doing everything I can to heal. Therapy helped for a few years, but even standard therapies (talking, EMDR) have their limits.
The craziest of blessings is my new deities are now working their own kind of therapy on me to heal my soul. For as amazing as that sounds, it’s very intense and leaves me feeling rather raw sometimes. Sometimes that’s why I’m not on here. I’m just processing a lot and things have gotten very intense again. To clean a river, you have to stir up the dirt on the bottom first.
Anyway.

Sounds a lot like my weekly channeling sessions with my Patron Saint. Best therapist EVER.

That’s awesome! Yes! It’s amazing when you know you have powerful allies on your side. It’s not something I think some expect, but your deities and guides can totally be therapists too.
Mine practically act like medics. Since there’s a physical component to my trauma, at times I feel them working on parts of my body during my “sessions.” I’ve had some healing dreams too. It’s so cool. I love them to death.
Anyway, that’s enough of my gushing. lol
Cheers.

Mistifying Monday Wren,
Were we raised in a “mirror” universe? Same here. At age 5, I got myself up, breakfast, lunch, school, latch-key home. Never had a “childhood”. Wow, wow, wow! Just looked up CPTSD…of the 10 listed I have most!! So, it sounds like Childhood PTSD in our cases. Reading that quickly, I’ll have to go back. explains a lot…like only nightmares and constant fatigue. I think I have woken up rested less times than I can count on my Left hand. That soooo makes sense.
Yes, the river, and dirt on the bottom. It seems the dirt has been stirred already, and when husband returns later today, it’s time to see some sediment settle and see where we are at.

The more you know! lol It’s not as well known as standard PTSD, and some lump them together, but I think it’s worth the distinction. Happy to help! That’s pretty crazy. Having a proper diagnosis for life’s problems can be life-changing!
When I’m at my worst I have 8 but sometimes they come and go. The intensity also goes down with the right therapy. I did talk therapy, CBT, EMDR, and even group therapy.
I didn’t grow up in a latch-key house, what I had was worse. Though I also had an extreme near-death event - complete with an NDE - it was highly complex and somewhat mysterious in nature (it wasn’t a car crash) and it didn’t leave me in a coma. Untangling the mysteries of what’s happened in my life has been a big part of my personal journey.
Best of luck, Lady Gene!

Weird Wednesday Wren,
Again, WOW. I had an NDE when I was 5. I remember it vividly. I also had a wild “emanation” happen right in front of me when I was about 8.
How strange, we have such similarities
