Hello! I'm new here

Nice to meet you, everyone! Call me Jasper. I’m a pagan. I’m not sure what path I’m taking and my beliefs are currently a mixture of practically everything out there. If I had to put a label on my beliefs it would either be Unitarian Universalist (all gods are aspects of the divine, which is beyond human comprehension, and so we make gods out of different parts of the divine to understand and worship. So basically, everyone is right) or Epicurean (Epicurus was a Greek philosopher who taught that one should not fear the gods (worship is fine, but you shouldn’t be afraid of them) and that a belief is good if it does not cause you discomfort/pain/suffering, and if it causes you any of those feelings then you should get rid of it).
I don’t want to offend anyone, so please let me know if I am in any of my posts, but this is what I believe at the moment.

A pleasure to meet you. May the gods and spirits watch over you all.

Super Saturday Seeking,

Wow!! I love how direct and upfront you are, I totally respect that!!

Welcome to our pack :wolf:! Myself, I am not a Wiccan, I am a witch, eclectic. I agree with so much with what you have written. It seems as though you and I share the same “beliefs”.

I am starting a new Tarot feed for June, called Tarot Talks for June. Please feel free to join, it is an open discussion about tarot, we will be starting with the first few Major Arcana. Love to “see” you there.

We have all kinds of beliefs here. Wiccan, Pagan, Shaman, Buddhist…and on and on.

This site is very accepting and feel free to ask ANY questions at all.:raised_hand:

Alright!

Nice to meet you, Lady Gene, Thanks for the invite. I’ll be sure to join, but I haven’t actually done any tarot yet. I don’t have a deck either. I believe the term is “in the broom closet” or something like that? My parents are aware that I am interested in pagan paths and are ok with that, but they’re still Christian and science-based and I’m not comfortable asking them for a deck or buying one with their knowledge. I’m… kind of science based? My current understanding of magick is it works because you believe it does. If you believe a spell makes you more confident, then you are more confident, and it did make you more confident, so it worked because you believed in it. I know that’s pretty contradictory with mystical beliefs, and I do have some of those too, and I’m just trying to figure it all out.
Again, thank you. Also, is this site LGBTQ+ friendly? I am currently exploring that.

Thank you for your help!

Welcome to the forum!

We’re friendly in every way possible! This is a safe space. Also, you can just buy two

cheap poker decks, and with a sharpy, make your own set. Of course, they’re just

stand-ins, you will look up the cards you lay out online for the symbolism and meanings.

There is actual divination with playing cards, Cartomancy. That’s where cards came from, Tarot.

Welcome to the forum!

It sounds to like you’re on a good track. Epicureus had a great philosophy. There are many ways that you can create your own practice, and I can see yours will be very unique! I think having a level of open-ness is always healthy.

Witchcraft is a form of science, though. It just works on a level of existence and uses energies standard science doesn’t measure very well. It’s Meta-physics!

Yes! I’m Bi and I will happily say this site is incredibly accepting. We have a small collection of us here. You’re good. :lotus:

Nice to meet you Jasper. I’m much like you in the respect that I’m new here and not really sure what kind of path I’m going to be taking. I dabble in most forms of magick but I’m also kinda a new broom to all of this myself. Welcome to the journey.

This is a good place for neophytes to explore various pagan pathways and belief systems, as there are many represented here and we all are supportive of each other regardless of any differences in our personal path. Welcome and Brightest Blessings!
