It been about a year now but dragonflies visit me constantly. I’ve had them land or fly in front of my windshield at a red light. They visit when I’m in my back yard. Coming and going to work. I understand their symbolism but has anyone had a duration like this? How long will my life be transforming or are these just spiritual messengers?

I, too, have had frequent encounters with dragonflies for over 6 decades. The visits began when I (around 8 yo) was roused predawn to accompany my father on one of his fishing jaunts. Watching the sunrise on a misty lake and seeing the red and blue creatures stir from their slumber on tules or bulrushes is one of the sweetest and most mystical memories I have.
I can’t say how long you may experience their visitations but but they are to be treasured.

Thank you Lisa! I appreciate your quick response. Every time I see them I feel awe and connection to the universe. I’m even considering getting a dragonfly tat on my inner forearm to mark the special connection. May we both continue receiving these spiritual blessings.

They are truly remarkable creatures. The varieties I see most often are Cardinal Meadowhawks and Blue Damsels. I agree – I hope they keep appearing all the days of our lives!
A dragonfly tat? Me, too! I have a design selected which would be inked on my left shoulder blade. Now I just have to gather my courage and find an artist who doesn’t mind working on elder skin. 
You’ll have to let me know if you follow through on your commemoration!

I adore dragonflies. They love my car ever since my mom first bought it for herself in 1999. Its blue so they think its water and they love the antenna on the top and hang out on it. Ever since i was a child they would be around me. Btw, aside from transformation they are messengers too, especially from ancestors! Awhile back i took my guitar outside and played it sitting under a tree. A HUGE dragonfly came up and landed on me. He stayed with me the whole time (like 20 mins) landing on me or hanging out on the head of the guitar. I felt like my great grandpa sent that little guy, because he played guitar too and i had been thinking about him just before i played. Dragonflies are wonderful little spirits.

How wonderful! I’ve come to just love them too. I don’t “read into them” anymore. I just let it go and enjoy their presence. I love your post Chimera! x

Thank you! Yeah its only certain times that they ever feel like an actual omen, like anything else. They are good little buddies otherwise lol. I recently found out that they eat biting flies too, which is a big plus to me because those pop up around my house each summer and are a menace.

Today I went to visit and clean the headstones of my parent’s graves. As I was standing there
looking at them afterwards, a huge dragonfly just came and landed on my shirt. For a long time.
Sat there on my stomach looking up at me. I offered it my hand to move to, but it flew away.
Very moving.
