The Nebra Sky Disk popped up on Free Dictionary today:
It’s a gorgeous bronze disk which measures nearly 12" across and is studded with gold dots that purportedly represent the Pleiades and other celestial bodies… It was discovered west of Leipzig in the Ziegelroda National Forest. Can you imagine worshipping in a primeval forest during the Bronze age with the sun setting behind the Brocken?
