I’m often asked, “What kind of witch are you?” Like so many others, for me it’s an open-ended question - or at least the answer is. I used to be a pastry chef, and I am an aromatherapist and herbalist. I have performed handfastings and exorcisms. I was born into a pagan family, and my only formal training was druidic. I love nature and talk with plants and have “my tree”. I prefer the company of faeries and animals to that of humans. I have studied practically every religion on the planet and have practiced at least 5 to one extent or another, preferring to pick and choose what works and ignore what doesn’t. The label I pick most often is Gray Witch. While I strive to always be wisely compassionate and expressively caring, some people should be eliminated from the gene pool.
Read all you can and learn what works for you. Just don’t get so hung up with trying to figure out what kind of witch you are that you fail to realize that you are eternally perfectible just the way you are, regardless of labels, titles, or pronouns. Also remember that just because it is written in a book, doesn’t make it factual and doesn’t mean it necessarily will work for you. Books are no more reliable than the bovine excrement on social media. The best source of learning is usually gained from a witch you know and trust, who will answer your question or point you in the right direction. The best indicator of truth is what your heart, your intuition tells you. Brightest Blessings!

This may sound stupid Marcus and Red….but what is a Gray Witch? Older, gray hair? Or something between “black or white” magic? Haven’t heard this one before.

Don’t feel bad, I don’t ever come across that term either. But, it makes sense if used with Magick.
White Magick, Black Magick, … Gray! (a mix)

Grey (The correct spelling by the way 
) isn’t evil black, nor is it goody two shoes white.
It is a mix, with constraints.

Yes, I spell grey with the y. Okay, kindof what I was thinking. Doesn’t that make us all grey witches? Most of us do White, with binding and/or hexing thrown in. And many black magic practitioners also perform blessing spells and manifestations spell. Grey also. So, I guess we all are grey witches.

A good rule of thumb is to question everything. Does it make sense to you, how do you or others benefit from it, and so on. The first question you may want to pose is whether or not it feels right and is in line with your core principles. Regardless of religion, spirituality, politics, or the whole litany of our differences, the one consistent human quality is that we are all biased and have our prejudices. In the final analysis you must learn to differentiate between fact - that which is proven by empirical evidence, and faith - what you choose to believe regardless of the lack of scientific proof. Your perception is your reality, and you should never allow anyone else’s perception to become your reality.
Okay, let me jump back off my soapbox. Learn all you can, accept that your ideas and opinions will change as you learn and grow, and above all else always be true to yourself. Brightest Blessings!

You know- the fact that you said this- makes me want to send you my copy I just found - tattered, old and recently water damaged due to some water damage flooding in the spare bedroom - In my opinion- some of my favorite possessions- I would send it to you via UPS next day because- as mentioned- my favorite possessions- should not have been kept this way- So thank you, but- like I said- I would pass it on in a heartbeat.

You have managed to address every single “trigger, trauma, self taught insecurity, hit nerve, etc.) I truly apologize for the “Kentucky” statement-I am sure you realize this is also a “trigger” - Geez- I hate this word. I went to school to become a social worker- kicking and screaming- I am still offended by a statement made before I started that “ people only choose this field to either help others or help themselves” I am great at helping others, but can not help myself. It took 11 years to get my degree. I joke that Florida owes me a refund. I think you are a genius- well said.
