Okay, so I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread discussing various ideas for different types of rituals. I’ll start off with a cleansing ritual that involves rain. I simply go into the rain and chant in my head “cleanse me of any and all evil taints that have manifested upon me.” After saying that, I’ll either let the energies from the water cleanse me or go inside to burn a sented stick to further enhance the effect.
Thank you for sharing this ritual, @Littlefield01. It is reminiscent of a memory from my youthful summers spent outside of Scottsdale, AZ at a riding camp.
This area is infamous for it’s wild summer rainstorms which could produce flash floods–thankfully we steered clear of the ravines and kept to level ground. A gaggle of us would dance ecstatically in the rain and, once, we even tried to wash our hair in a downpour. The rain suddenly stopped before we could rinse off and we made a soggy spectacle as the bunch of us ran giggling for hundreds of yards to the showers.
I recognize that my experience was not the same as intentionally accepting the rain as a natural part of your ritual but maybe that was the beginning of my own spiritual awakening. Rain is truly magical, especially in the high desert with its rarefied air and scent of wet sage.
Thank you again for sharing the experience of your ritual. I connected to an old and precious memory.
Blessed be.
You’re welcome! Figured it’d be a good way for us all to compare and contrast methods for rituals.
I tried to wash my hair in the rain once. Ended up being a soapy mess lol.
